On radio talk shows it is common to hear the phrase "I'm a long time listner, first time caller" or a "LTL/FTC". Why dont we have a similar phrase on the boards for the "newbies": "Long time lurker, first time poster" or a "LTL/FTP". :0)~
That is kind of my way of asking/inviting the lurkers to participate on the boards. I personally know a "lurker". He's such a nice gentleman and has some wonderful ideas. I ask him why he doesnt "share with the rest of us"...he just blushes. I still dont know why he chooses not post his ideas.
Perhaps lurkers are afraid that someone will find out who they really are. Perhaps they are afraid of the "Flames" (flames are fairly painless I assure you).
I notice that when a "New" poster adds a review or an opinion he/she tends to be viewed with suspicion or just flat out ignored until they post consistently...why is this???????
I submit that the "lurkers" may actually have the answers to the meaning of life, the omni-vastness of the universe, the infintismalism of the cosmos...okay maybe not...but they may at least have some of the answers to our industry issues. :0)~
Lurkers...I embrace you! Venture forth! Be brave!... Post a thread or participate. I'd love to hear what you think!
Honeychile, ever since I discovered this board I have been babbling like a brook.
Trust me. Being ignored is worse than being flamed.
Nevertheless, I am not capable of shutting up so I shall continue to babble into the void. Gotta accept that my points of view are at such graphic angles to everybody elses' that I won't get the positive feedback I long for.
