I have NEVER visited Nashville..I grew up on Hee Haw, so the Grand Old Opry is a GIVEN! (I thought Minnie Pearl was just IT when I was 8) What are your "you HAVE to go there!" spots? I have a couple days to play tourist, and I am FULLY taking advantage of it..
Museums, Night Clubs, Parks, Restaurants..I am interested in ALL of it!

You have to go see it. Take the tour. Take your camera... Pack a lunch if it's warm enough.
I'm not much of a night club person, but Wild Horse Salon is nice. They teach you line dancing.
As for restaurants, The palm is nice. Right downtown. Cheekwood is nice also if it's warm enough.

I'm a major homebody, so I don't get out much unless I'm shooting or touring.. Goodluck!!!

If you're into all the old country music stuff, the Country Music Hall of Fame is a must.  It's downtown just 2-3 blocks from the Ryman(which is the old Opry House).

serious music lovers won't get sucked in by the tourist joints downtown. You want to check out South Broadway- The Mercy Lounge, Cannery Ballroom, The Rutledge, & 3rd & Lindsley. Or close by, see who's playing at The Station Inn or Exit Inn. Grimey's Music is legendary and The Basement is the music venue located there.
