Yes near Vanderbilt or the Gulch is a great choice. There are some newer hotels and air bnb's that are nice. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Most clients I've met have said they wouldn't want to go downtown or the Gulch due to traffic and parking issues. But I'm sure it's convenient for quite a few who haven't made the trek out to where I stay. :shrug:
Also, when I first researched Nashville hotels, a LOT of them in those areas require key-cards to access the elevators. Plus, they were significantly more expensive than similar hotels in other parts of town. If you're planning on visiting for a few days, you could split your visit between a couple locations. The airport area has worked out well for me, business-wise, so that's where I plan to continue staying when I visit.
