There has been a bit of a storm brewing in the discussion boards lately, that somehow I've gotten involved with. Here is my suggestion...If someone is posting as a "provider"... perhaps they should have1)  A registered screen name2)  Confirmation via e-mail or phone for that registered name3)  Have all messages held for review BEFORE posting from "said provider"I only offer this for the protection of the providers.  I've watched as a potential act of good faith, for other providers, has turned into the flame war it's become. After the second or third round, it occured to me, ANYONE can post saying they are a "provider"... making negative comments, etc etc. as we've seen here.  I would have to think I could jump on as somebody I am NOT, with an unregistered screen name, and "tarnish" the image of that provider... a provider that may actually NOT be aware of this board!  Such an easy way to "deal" with your competition..."Hi, I'm Samantha, and i want everyone to know how nasty "so and so" was... "  or "Watch out for "xxx"... he ripped me off"... or even worse.. making derogatory comments to other people on the board, "tarnishing" the reputation of the REAL provider... for in this case, I cannot see that ANYONE would see this "Kitara/Karissa/KP22" person after these attacks.  Do we really know that it's her?  Does The Erotic Review feel any responsibility for finding out?Just my .02...OCGuy--modified by OCGuy at Mon, Dec 18, 2000, 10:24:52

We are looking at writing our own discussion application at some point. We need to do this in order to standardized the usernames and to better integrate this discussion area into the rest of the site. We will take care of some of this them. We do hav a bit of an issue at times, because we do not heavily moderate the boards. We are still in the learning process when it comes to what moderation needs to happen,, but we really want to keep it to a minimum.
