...Because of nerve damage to my hands I must type with just one finger, often with research & spelling checks it may take me an unusually long time to type out a detailed comment & often times the TER system arbitrarily times out my session erasing all my work. Despite numerous complaints I have never received an adequate answer from admin. only CLOSED in their reply. I just thought other TER members should know that I believe this problem deserves an ANSWER.

but one answer to this problem is to type out responses in Word, then copy and paste them to TER when you have all typed out the way you want it.

Sorry to hear of this problem, but many sites are design to time out if no activity is noted for a period of time.

There was another recent on Newbie about time outs:

Here's another suggestion: there are a bunch of "speech to text" apps on different platforms. You might not be able to talk your message directly into a TER posting form, but there should be apps that work with common things like MS Word and Google apps. In general, speech to text should come in handy for you in your life outside of TER, too.
.
I don't know of any way to improve TER responsiveness.

Not sure what you expected TER to do about your complaints.

I'm sorry you have a problem typing but that is not TER's fault.  As fish said, just type it up in a document, then copy and paste it into TER. Also imposter had good suggestion about talk to text programs. Obviously if you have this nerve issue, you have problems typing on a computer period, not just on TER. It seems like you should find a way to help yourself out with this issue, and it will be beneficial for way more than just TER.

Good luck

If you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of typing something, and die there, you children won't find your TER open when they empty out your place.

My browser stays on TER when I time out. And my login name is still in the upper right hand corner. When I, or my grieving children, try to do something, it then bounces to the login page with my login name already filled in. (And a message in red about having to log back in.) All that's needed is to enter my password. But if I'm dead, I ain't talking.

But now that they know my handle, they can always create their own account and read all my old posts and reviews.
