If TeR added this would you use it? Directed to both guys and ladies.

I think that there used to be a Live Chat ("I'm online now") kind of thing here on TER. It wasn't used very much and that feature has been removed.
.
I don't think bodes well for your suggestion.

Better historians (GaG, perfectstorm) can give more accurate about that.

While there wasn't an "available now" feature, there was an "online now" feature where you could live chat with a provider. Some used it to set up dates. Others just used it to chat, but in general it was not widely used at all. It was discontinued a few years ago. I doubt they would bring it back.
As to your direct question, for me personally, I wouldn't use it. P411 has that feature. Some ad malls like EROS have it. I think it's good in places like that, but that really isn't the purpose of TER.

It was years after it was gone before most of us even realized TER had shit canned it. lol

I just don't see any TER regional ad board ever having enough traffic to warrant an "available now" feature, unlike P 411 where the feature is an unmitigated success. As you said, it's really not the purpose of TER.

I never participated in group chat, but I did talk to several TER providers one on one when their status showed up as "online." I even used it to set dates twice.  I believe the one on one was called "TER messenger" vs the other feature which was "TER chat."

... would be to add a checkbox to provider account info to indicate whether the provider is available now.  If enabled, it would show up as a graphic (flashing green dot?) by the provider's name in search result lists, new review lists, and profile displays.  It would be nice if there would also be a search option added for "available now" providers.

Of course, the value of adding this depends on providers choosing to use it, and remembering to turn it off when they're not available.  One way to help with the latter issue is to allow choosing of a start day/time and end day/time for "available now", and of course allowing it to be disabled at any time.

I usually schedule several days in advance so this feature would have little value to me, although I can think of a couple of times it would have come in handy.  But I think many mongers schedule on short notice, so it might be very useful to them.

In account manager a provider could check off "show my online status" then when she logged onto to TER. There would be a green button that said "online" on her profile if anyone was checking her profile. Also when you searched reviews, all the providers who were online would show up st the top of the list regardless when their last review was, then below the online providers, everyone else was listed by date of last review (unless you specified a different "sort by" filter.) The green online button appeared bext to the name in the review list. Clicking on the online button either from tecreview list or from their profile would open an instant chat box to the provider.

When that was working, I don't recall ever seeing more than 2-6 ladies online at any time. This is not from one city. This is from all of TER. Obviously it was never very popular, and probably why it is gone. However I do know at least one lady from LA who said she actually got a lot of dates that way.

It's not about being ONLINE now. It's about being AVAILABLE now.  Two different things. A provider doesn't have to be online on TER to be available.

But it may not be difficult to implement, since maybe a lot of the code for "online now" could be used for "available now".

Her simple question was if TER added an "available now" feature, would you use it? My simple answer to her was "no."

... "That's exactly how it was done" and then went on to describe how Online Now was implemented.  Others also posted about Online Now.

The OP asked about Available Now.  Not the same thing.  For example, P411 has BOTH Online Now AND Available Now features.   And some provider web sites show "Available Now!"  But that doesn't mean they're ONLINE now.

Yes exactly! Would it be easier to find out that day who is available by simply going to one designated spot rather than searching through ads. I mean how much time does the average person spend searching for someone who may be available whether it be for that day or even the next day? I find most people who schedule with me we email for that day. The ones who do advance tend to not confirm. About 50% so I don't put a lot of stock in advance scheduled new people. If it is someone who has me that is different but plans still change and life happens so I end up with openings. So just wondering if there was something that could be done to make that easier for both parties. It's kind of like getting to the store and flipping the sign to open. And u pop into the mall where my store is some are open some are not..... etc

Sort of like how guys post in the forum what they are searching for and guys give options and ladies say yep I'm available for that.

I almost always book same day, it's one of the reasons I both almost never cancel or get cancelled on. P 411 has this feature and I do use it all the time rather than sending out a bunch of messages to women who haven't logged in in several days that most likely won't be getting back to me for at least 24 hours.

So to answer your actual question, if TER were to add this feature AND enough women were to use it in my area to make it useful (highly doubtful) yes I would use it, but I don't see it happening.

To accommodate several opinions, all related to scheduling (now OR later), it has been suggested to create  TER Calendar feature. TODAY's calendar page would clearly show who is Available Now. Scrolling ahead several days would allow others to reach to schedule a meeting in advance.
.
TER could implement an open software calendar solution or they could try to write their own (Heaven Forbid!).  Providers would have to enter their own info / dates / hours.  The range would be limited to users preferences ... 7 days? 10 days? 2 weeks, max?
.
One calendar for each major city? One composite calendar with sortable filters? Etc.?
.

... we find out if TER can handle a relatively simple ("it's been done before") and useful feature like "Available Now", which wouldn't take much time/effort for providers to use, see how that goes, and if that's successful then MAYBE think about trying the much more complex undertaking that you're suggesting.  😏

Because
1. "Available Now" (or Online Chat) by itself wasn't popular, BUT
2. Others have expressed an interest in a Calendar, AND
3. A calendar ALSO provides the Available Now people what they want, THEN
4. A simple calendar could prove to be popular with
4a. Providers who would have another "ad" outlet
4b. Clients who would have another way to connect to Providers with availability that matches their own   schedule
4c. The Available Now folks would just have to look at "Today" on the calendar.
4d. TER who would find more interest in TER as a source of up to date availability info, AND
4e. If TER made it a VIP-only feature (following a pre-announced period of free access), it could drive more users to paid or review-earned VIP.
.
5. Did I mention that when Providers enter their info into the calendar that their name would be hot linked to their Profile?

... TER has never had an "Available Now" feature.  Thus it's fallacious to predict its popularity based on a different feature.  But, if you insist in predicting the popularity of a new feature based on another, then we should conclude that the Calendar feature won't be successful, based on the history of "Online Now".  ;)

Also, "others have expressed an interest" in "Available Now".  See above.

IMO the main problem with such a Calendar will be keeping it accurate. Once it's found to be inaccurate, and thus cannot be relied upon, it won't be used.

And it will be much more effort/cost to implement than "Available Now." How many major feature changes did TER make in the last redesign?  What do you think the odds are of getting a new feature like this implemented outside a release cycle, if ever?

I think either of these would work and obviously you would see who is serious about seeing people and provide for their needs in reference to who keeps it up to date. I'm sure this would be put in reviews as well. I have seen some women do not even answer their emails or phone calls! I always get back to people even when I am away for a bit. Just thought I would make things easier for both sides. I would even pay for this feature to make things less complicated for myself!

And also addressing Envelope's comment "What do you think the odds are of getting a new feature like this implemented outside a release cycle, if ever?" ...
.
TER should not modify the code of the current TER interface in any way at all. Leave it as is. I think the TER programmers can handle that.
.
TER should ADD a separate, stand-alone, open source calendar or scheduling app.  Features there would LINK to the existing TER but not alter it or change TER.  E.g., the Calendar Login would use the TER Login database.  Another e.g., a provider who enters her schedule info into the calendar  would be hot-linked to her Profile.
.
That is: Provider HANDLE "HandyHannah" is linked to her Profile Name "Hannah".  When she is logged in to the calendar as HandyHannah, the software knows that she is Profile Hannah.  Log in, pick the calendar day(s) and time(s) of availability, ... voila! Instant hot link.  MOST handles without a linked Profile are clients, not Providers. This penalizes unlinked Provider members without Profiles, but I am only proposing that as a starting point.   TER would need a way to distinguish unlinked handles to allow the providers to edit the calendar but not to allow clients access to modify the calendar.  (NOTE: there are multi-access calendars that only allow users to modify their OWN schedule and not mess with anybody else's calendars.)
.
And, obviously, TODAY's calendar page is the "Available Now" list (assuming the calendar also shows the times).

I think TER would be happy to let people pay for such a feature! Don't encourage them too much!
