Controversy and fairness

There has been a lot of controversy lately over reviews on both sides.  I am not interested in drama.  However, if we are to accept bad reviews it should be only fair that we are allowed to check the veracity, and tell our side of the story.  And if it is a review in retaliation for something, like a man not getting a girlfriend, or other unsavory situations the review should be taken down.  In any other business a business owner could defend ourselves.  When reviews are posted for someone to get revenge it is taking advantage of us, it is a type of slavery.  It is not fair.

Without outing myself I will say I had an emergency.  A client graciously allowed me to stay in his house for a week.  Actually, he anted me to stay in his house and he wanted a relationship. When I refused it was not pretty and he told me he would retaliate.  I have proof. I see most of my clients again.   I am not very high volume in the first place,  I tend to like longer dates rather than more dates.  

I am not asking TER to take down bad reviews.  I am asking TER to verify the details of when we met to make sure we actually did meet, and that the person is a legitimate client and not someone'e boyfriend or other person with a grudge. That is only fair.

Why not submit your proof to TER?

With proof, eg PM or email, that the review was retaliatory, Admin should remove it.  

The tough cases for review verification are when it comes down to what the provider says, vs the reviewer... without any evidence that the session never occurred, or was significantly different than what was portrayed in the review (eg it was retaliatory).  From other discussions on this subject and from what I've heard from providers I know, if the client has evidence such as email or PM that the session was confirmed, then without other evidence TER usually leaves the review up.  

This is IMO the biggest issue with the current review system. If an inaccurate review like the one you described stays up after a challenge, there's a few options, such as blacklisting the reviewer and warning other providers on your local board and Provider board (might want to ask other providers to PM you for details vs posting them).

They won't look

They won't even let me know where we met, so I cannot do that.  I have accounted for every person that I saw as a client, so the person that wrote the review did not have a session as stated.  So, if he had to show proof where we met he could not.  Yet, they won't investigate this.

So, just report the review to Admin as bogus and clearly explain how you know it's bogus.  They will ask the reviewer to prove he actually saw you.  Since you say there's no way he can do that, the review should be taken down.  

If you've already done this and Admin refused to investigate, that's just plain wrong and not consistent with other cases like this that I've heard about.

The OP is most likely telling the truth.

Admin is not exactly consistent in these matters.

For some reason some providers can get any review not a 10-10 removed that are pretty obviously legit and other providers can't get even the most obvious fake reviews removed. I don't think we need new rules, I think we need more consistent enforcement of the rules we have.

Admin is apparently refusing to even investigate her complaint

So the default assumption is that "they" think her claim is baseless, which is a tacit way of saying she is "lying". Obviously you said no such thing.

Seems like we should be able to bounce out 2-3 annually if they are way out of our average and/or...

say something outlandish like she barebacked me, etc or some other act that we just never do.

No, too much positive review manipulation

Between offers of BBFS and extra time, wimpy White Knights and out right threats for less than stellar reviews impacting the scores, you don't get to toss out the bad ones as well.

When I look at reviews I reduce the score by 20%, add five years to the age and ten pounds to the weight. Have learned that the hard way.

You just asked for that a couple weeks ago. Admin even replied to your post

which is extremely rare on this board, and you didn't reply back to admin.  
Anyway, your idea is a bad idea for many reasons, and you didn't get any positive responses last time.

I wouldn't worry too much about it....

Currently, you have 27 reviews with an 8.5 (something) overall score.  One bad review has less than a 4% weight on your average.  It also stands out like a phony.  I can read all your other reviews and the one bad one will not deter me from contacting you.  

In my professional life, I come across difficult customers from time to time,  but they do not influence me or bring me down.  I just figure a great customer is around the corner.

I know it sucks to get a bad review that you didn't deserve, but someone once said the cream always rises to the top.  That is sooo true.

Thank you, Tommy.  When we are at home, it does not matter so much.  It just worries me when I travel to a new area! Plus, if someone did it to get even, I do not like to let that happen.  It is not so much the score or review.

Agree with verifying

Like Date-Check does, it asks me if I saw someone. I know it's not a review site but the verifying part could apply here to TER.
