Good point, Slippery. Apparently, TER's programmers are too lazy to set up more than a generic auto-response. I'm surprised they don't receive so many befuddled 'Help' messages about this that they're prompted to fix it.
Occasionally, a post will get pulled because the thread it is in has become too contentious, to stupid, or just downright inflammatory. If that post gets pulled, and from my own observations, it looks like as a matter of policy or practice, every post subordinate to that post is also pulled. Makes sense. Except that if yours is one of the subordinate posts, and you're looking for that post in your My TER | My Message Boards, you'll see the message that the post is Not Allowed, and the reason given is "Reason: You requested to have your post deleted". Of course, the reason given in the case I'm considering is incorrect. In my case I didn't request to have the post deleted; it was deleted unilaterally by TER, also without any notice. As far as I can tell it also wasn't deleted based on the content of my post.
A better solution might be to indicate that the post was Not Allowed for the Reason: "Your post or a post in your thread was deemed inappropriate by TER standards and was removed by TER." An automated email to the posters would also be a considerate feature, just so the posters knows that the posts disappeared.
