I'm fine with the new TER but it is harder to keep track of the new posts on any given board.  So how about TER creates a "New Posts" Board that would list every new post in order of when it went up, along with the board it was on.  That way, if you wanted, you could just go there and scroll through only the new posts without trying to figure out which of the posts were new on any given board.  It would save a bunch of time.

Are you thinking of a particular non-TER forum that has that feature? Scroll to the bottom of the main page and see if they say what forum software their site is built upon. E.g., bbPress, MyBB, phpBB, vBulletin, ...

Or even tell us the name of a non-TER forum that has a design and GUI that you like. If current TER users saw what was out there, they might further press TER Admin to make the switch.
