Since time and again people (including me) ask about the differing risks of disease, why not have a section with "official" information on that along with all the health threads in one place?
I suggest we broaden our search for a moderator to include other health professionals besides doctors. Specialists in public health, nurses, academic research types or even a conscientious provider could do the job well.
Doctors generally feel that they're closer to the gods than to you or me. Doctors know that their time is more valuable than the most expensive provider. Doctors are cheap in terms of tips, charity and pro bono work so you'll probably not get any to respond anyway. (Come to think about it doctors only saving grace is that occassionally they may save your life.)
It is a very important topic. Unfortunately human nature would have a lot of "I heard/read you could get x-disease from doing this" or "I heard/read it's safe to do blank" Even "published" medical information is not always accurate, misinformation could literally have a life or death consequence
