Please don't misunderstand this.  I know that TER must have some way to make some $.  One way is to sell banner ads.

However, some of the banner ads "give away" they type of website you are viewing to anyone standing within a 15 foot view of your screen.

I remember a few months ago, TER went to great lengths to redesign it's logo so as to be more discrete.  But the banner ads put it back to square one on this issue.

Can anything be done and still preserve the revenue??

I second this sentiment. The homepage says there's no nudity on this site, but the banner ads (especially the one from cityvibe)
are far from discreet.

As I post this, I look to the handspring banner, and think..."How nice...I don;t have to worry about someone catching a glimpse of this..."

But the ads which are explicit really do keep me on edge.  I agree - is there a way we can do away with the less than discreet ones?

I agree.  It's very difficult in the workplace.

One idea is to have a slightly higher membership fee to avoid the banners.
