I think that's a good suggestion. Kind of like "Free Limited VIP" for all. TER won't lose much (a little more bandwidth? a little more disk space?) but will retain and maybe increase membership into the future.

that will happen. They (ter) has t pay bills as well.
So, whatever revenue they get they need due to the loss of mongers renewing  memberships and etc.

I lost my VIP a week ago, and cannot renew.  All I can do is post now...no reviews, no PM's.  After fourteen years, this sucks, but I have enough friends, and remember reading reviews of many prospective ladies.  Thus, I can weather the storm, which I assume will be permanent.  Still, it would be nice to have access to the PM system again, even if for just a limited time.

Easy for me to say, but I also think this is a great idea.  I already have a few PMs sitting there that I can't read and are already taking up bandwidth.  If nothing else, I could read them, delete most of them, and actually free up bandwidth.  I suspect the activity and reviews would increase if we could PM each other again, thus generating revenue.  I'd like to re-up, but, like others here in the U.S., I can't.

Slight catch 22....
You can't report errors on provider profiles you can't view. Still many providers reviews are under lock and key. The only errors visible without VIP, are website errors. I think opening up the pm system will keep more people interested in hanging around for the outcome...
Nothing useful can be posted ( or should be posted) on the boards. At least with an open pm system, guys can try to help each other out. Isn't that the foundation of this site?

Both providers who have been unable to relocate along with the gents would benefit from being able to PM each other for the purpose of discussion outside what is currently allowed.
