A mention in the general rules atop the page dissuading Newbies from ISO posts and providers from trying to advertise on that board would also be of great help.

Is is possible to have a permanent post with links to acronyms on the Newbie Board?  Ive seen a post almost every other day asking the same question: "What do these acronyms mean?

If you created such a permanent post that would stay at the top of the list, this would eliminate a lot of redundancy.
