Make the providers TER ID# a required field on the review form. It's simple enough. Yes, some guys wouldn't take the time otherwise and some would simply click "New Provider" (that would need to be an option too)but it would have to cut down on duplicate profiles being created.

Many have proposed this in the past. impposter has done so again on another board. It just makes sense.
Add to that the auto population of the profile info once the ladies ID# is entered.
Thanks, xyz. It's me, impposter. Yes, it might fail in many cases but it will absolutely cut down on the number of duplicate profiles in as many or more cases (from my rough estimates of NYC and Boston related Profiles). (In the meantime, some of us are including TER ID in General Details.)

Make it a requirement to include the provider's ID # in the general details, unless it is her first review.  This would eliminate duplicate profiles.

Guy that write idiotic "new Profiles" for providers that already have profiles, will not seek out Provider ID #, or anything else. They think they are the 1st guy to review her. This is especially true when girls come out with new names. Your idea will NOT work.

if it's a field on the review form, at least veteran hobbyists might fill it in.   And wha't s with an alias, it's the s/p board

Seems easy enough. but it has been proposed so many times, that I don't see it happening anytime soon. Almost daily the topic comes up on the newbie board of how to add reviews to existing profiles, and how "difficult" it is to fill out the profile again. Well I have never found it difficult, but it is useless, since nothing will change on the profile based on what you put down.  Seeems easy enough to have at the top of the profile, a spot for an id number or a checkmark for new provider. If you type in the number the profile gets repopulated automatically. If you check "new provider," then you have to fill out the profile. There would still be some duplicate profiles due to people thinking that they are the first reviewer, or being too lazy to look up the profile, or from ladies who change their names, phone numbers etc. These could still be fixed by problem reports, but I think a lot of the duplicates would be eliminated, and it would make writing the reviews easier for those people who hate repopulating the profile with useless info that won't get used.

I'm not sure, but I think that your entire Review (form and essays) get saved. Even though your changed entry (natural becomes implants; 21-25 becomes 26-30 :-) ) doesn't automatically change the Profile, I think it makes it easier for a Problem Report to get it changed. If there is a record, especially a RECENT record and even SEVERAL recent records of new info then the guy who submits the Problem Report and asks for a revision is more likely to get it approved.

CAN A TER ADMIN COMMENT ON THAT?

Yep. You know where I stand on having TER ID in the Review Submission Form. Adding a new field to a database is EASY. Linking a new field to other functions and items in the database is harder but not impossible.
