It's been happening to me for months, (since around Sept or Oct) but it is definitely random. When it does happen, I go to edit my post and repost it and then it goes up instantly.

But I do hope they fix the glitch. It's been brought up here before.

...the response I got from admin when I did a "contact us" the first time it happened. My understanding from what they said was it's intentional. But whether glitch or not it needs to be fixed/done away with.

it will be moderated.

The reason given for this rule was that a moderated person could edit a post and add things to it that would not be allowed if an edited post were allowed to go right back up.  Apparently TER has no was of telling whether an edited post is from a moderated or unmoderated person.

Generally speaking whenever I edit a post of mine, it is moderated, though I have noticed a few times that it went right back up.

It would seem that the system is in an "inconsistent state", as my computer alarms proclaim from time to time.

We have had this discussion before. For about a year now, edited posts go up instantly. I am not sure if TER figured out a way to differentiate moderated posts and unmoderated posts, because if not then it is obviously a way for moderated posters to get their posts up instantly. I know it works for me when my posts are moderated mistakenly (which is what this thread is about) On the other hand, since they did away with moderators, I dont think they moderate posts anyway. It seems moderation now is only a time delay, then the post goes up, and they pull it down if someone reports it. If they were truly moderated, then there would not be so many newbie posts breaking rules.

Here is a previous discussion regarding editing that we were both involved in:

why is it so random? I can post ten posts in a day on various boards and the first three go up instantly, and the third one gets moderated, then the next two go up and the one after that gets moderated, then the next three weeks none of my posts get moderated!  Also, if they are really moderating it, why allow me to edit it and post it back instantly? And why do the posters who are actually moderated (brand new members) get their posts posted when they are breaking the rules.  (ad posts on wrong boards, mentioning competing sites, posting disallowed links and photos etc.)

Not arguing with you, xyz. Just venting and stating my reasons why I felt it was a glitch and not intentional, but then again there are a lot of weird TER things that we dont understand.

I've noticed if you mention any other location on the world wide web is when your post get's held for moderation.  Any other locale, any of them.......So I don't think it's random.

...because your glitch idea is plausible. I could have misunderstood the admin communique. They didn't actually say it was intentional. I just took what they said to mean that it was intentional because they didn't say it was a glitch. Either way it doesn't make sense. I did know about the edit thing though. I had forgotten. I'll use that from now on.

Thanks
