Let’s assume for all intents and purposes the bumping of ads is unintentional. Guys love to shill, ladies need to promote their new doubles or add new photos to their ad threads. Whatever the reason, let’s assume no one is being spiteful. Still the behavior must cease now that we have a NEW board format.
THE PROBLEM:
Shilling by men and other providers (for doubles purposes or whatever), etc. has been going on for more than two years, which wasn’t a problem until now. NOW, we have a whole new board format, so shilling or adding new reply posts to an *old* ad thread bumps that ad above ladies who just posted their ad today. In general, any lady who posts her ad today should still have her ad on the top of old ads since it is *new*. This is not an unreasonable concern regardless of what posts were pulled earlier today or not.
THE SOLUTION: There is an easy solution to this problem. In order to prevent the bumping of an old ad on top of a brand new one is to not allow bumping of ads period. This means NO ONE (male or female) can reply to a provider’s ad. If she’s offering doubles, she has to say so in her initial post. This is the solution on several other review boards with a format similar to this new one.
Thank you moderators and admin for taking a look at this new problem. I understand there are several glitches and I am certain it will be a bumpy ride until everything is figured out, until then we must all try to be patient without the unnecessary drama.
Simple problem. Simple solution. Not that serious…
Have a good day everyone.
reply posts to their ads? If so they get moderated or something, because I just noticed on the MN board that a lady who posted her ad today has already been bumped by ads of ladies who have had their ads up for two days. Either another girl wants to jump on and talk about their doubles, a guy is shilling or she is simply posting another photo under the original thread, her ad is being bumped.
Of course I understand you are fixing this issue, but in the meantime, it would be nice if mods would inform ladies to knock it off!
Thank you.
it's not bumped. If this occurs, the culprits are moderated.
Of course I am certain you are working the logistics out.
ladies have been doing this for the 2 years I have been on this board and NOONE has said squat until today. And, now all of a sudden it is a problem. And why is it only certain providers are having their posts pulled and not all? What gives? And, MOST girls who post more than one pic, post them simultaneously, so saying it bumps her ad up is a mute point because it doesn't. She posts them one right after another so it doesn't bump anything up any higher.
If Mods are going to start pulling posts or threads of people who are doing this, then they should pull ALL of them, not just 1 or 2. Today, on the MN board, 2 different ads went up whereby the ladies posted pics of themselves and advertised they were doing doubles. Then the second provider of the double posted under the OP with a picture saying how excited they were blah-blah etc etc. The second provider posts were pulled because they were "piggybacks" of the OP's ads. I don't believe it was done to intentionally bump the ad to the top again or any of that nonsense. It was just done to advertise the double and how hot and excited she was ,etc. trying to grab interest and the eyes of the guys. period. Isn't that what we are supposed to do? Isn't that what we ALL or most of us have been doing for years? I can show you a few hundred links or so as evidence if you want me too!!
So, anyway, on the same MN board, there are also provider ads where the provider is replying to her own ad, replying to shills, other providers replying with "HI", welcome back, can I play, nice shoes, etc, etc, etc. So, those are acceptable piggybacks by providers which push up ads of their friends but posting a legitimate post as a reply when you are actually working with the provider as her doubles partner will get your post pulled and/or moderated?
Does this make any sense at all ,Admin? I don't think it should count as an AD for the double partner either since she may only be working with the OP one day out of the week. It is not fair and not right!!!! Perhaps what would be a fair compromise would be to allow the OP to post the doubles notice instead of the double partner?? To say this is just being done to bump the ad is ridiculous and obscene though.
In my opinion, if you remove those posts that are placed as legitimate business needs, then you sure should go in and remove all the shills (which aren't supposed to be there to start with!! ), all the HI's , nice shoes, welcome backs, etc etc etc that also were piggybacks and bumped ads to the top.

Have a good day everyone.![]()
your schedule changes?
You are not allowed to edit the posting past a certain number of hours.
You're not allowed to post a new ad because you're still within the seven day time period.
How would you let friends know that you were going to be staying a day longer than initially planned?
Or leaving early?
Or moving to a different location in the city, etc?
We need to be able to update the ad to make changes, without it bumping.
I agree that it's important that we be able to update our ads as our schedules change, etc. And trust me I want to post my ad too, so I am hoping for a solution.
Anyway, I just took a look at a few boards with this same format and I noticed they were pretty consistent with the rules, which are as follows (not directly copied):
-One post or bump per day per city
-Only providers may post in ad forum
-Men cannot reply to ads
-One ad per city per week
-No replies are allowed to ads
-Men are not allowed to post on ads
-If a provider needs to make a change to her ad, she must PM mod for change
-Providers cannot post new ads for the week
-Those who do not comply will be warned and then moderated
On all of these sites, they are strict that men cannot post on the ads, as it is unnecessary bumping.
Ideally (though I’m not sure if technology is out there yet) we should be able to update our ads without them floating back to the top and pushing new ads down. And I think until that happens, we should all be cognizant that we’re pushing another lady’s ad thread down. And I'm certain admin has some things in place, I just hope that the rules are put in place sooner than later or there’s going to be some unnecessary drama with ladies getting mad about their ad being bumped by an old one. It’s inevitable.
Good question. I hope they figure out a solution soon.

to post multiple pics and announce a double partner when done immediately in response to an initial ad post since it does not bump up your own ad. How can it when it is done IMMEDIATELY? I can see it bumping your ad up when it's done hours later or the next day but not when it is done immediately. There is nothing bumping you up when done like that.
And, yes, we have to be able to announce important changes. I would agree with that.
I am in agreement the shilling has to stop but not the legitimate business needs.
my .02 cents.
another ad, then it shouldn't matter, should it?
It would make since that as long as something does NOT bump the ad, then yes we should be able to do it. I agree.
It will be nice when something concrete is put in writing.
Xoxo.
rather than mimic all these second rate sites you are referring to, why don't we just go back to being the best discussion board that has ever existed?
You are absolutely correct, none of this was a problem until the new format went into effect. Ad posts on TER, unlike ads on other sites, actually stimulated conversation. Why do we want to take a huge step backwards and be "just like everybody else", when we were already the best site out there?
ladies on the MN board yesterday, and then TER wide. Since this is the case, it will happen to ME when I post my ad as well. So I am hoping there is a solution put in place before I post my ad or other ladies have to deal with this.
This is a problem affecting all provider ads. Some just haven't realized it yet, because they are still viewing their ad in the classic format while hundreds are viewing it in the new format.
So I'm are hoping for a solution.
Hugs.
And, find out what is the acceptable way of posting multiple pics and doubles announcements so as to avoid my ads being pulled and/or being moderated. There is nothing wrong with being proactive. I think everyone is trying to be understanding about ads being bumped ahead of others for right now but eventually, it will cause provider in-fighting....mark my words.
