Each Discussion Board has a VERY brief description under the name of the board:  
"New York"
"Welcome to the New York discussion board."

Well, duh. That was helpful. Someone suggested that each board have a little bit more info / instruction under the header.  E.g., NY is primarily about NYC and close by (short, easy commute) areas. If people used uniform TAGS in their subject lines, it would be easier to pick out new posts about each sub-region.

First of all the Upstate New York Ad Board is barely a month old.  Second, what's stopping anyone from posting Upstate questions on the NY Board?  Nothing.  If you're not getting responded to there, maybe it's because so few readers are from Upstate.  And if that's the case, why do they (you) need another board?  Duh.

SOMEONE suggested that TER formalize the TAG suggestion and make it an explicit part of the Local Discussion Board intro messages.  More uniform use of TAGS by others would help everyone looking for info outside the main metro areas.
