Might have been suggested before but I couldn't find it.
When a post is moved from either the GD or one of the regional boards to the "In Search Of" board, send the poster a PM so he knows where to look for any responses. At least then he will know the post wasn't "erased".
many members are not VIP so they don't even get PMs. I have no doubt that most people that have their posts moved do not know that they moved though. I'm sure it happens to a lot of newbies too, that post on a regional or general board and then have their post moved to the newbie board. They probably have no clue their post was moved. Many people don't know that all they have to do is look at their "my message boards" folder. Anyway as I said, I think your idea is good but it still won't help everybody.
"Admin" should have more than enough power to get a message to those who are not VIP's. I mean, they do have the email address that was provided at sign up. Not my problem if it was a fake that can't be accessed. Update it.
Sorry that it might be a little extra work for them but based on what I see on the ISO board I don't think 5 or 6 emails a day would be overwhelming.
I had started a post here and it wound up mysteriously on the Vegas Regional board.
Ensuing a shit storm of drama and making my life hell.
Thanks so much for moving my op admin. and not only NOT sticking to your own policies and procedures, running things very much the way the previous owner of TER did.
If I didn't know any better, I'd think Dave Elms was out of prison and back at the helm.
And what does your post here have to do with sphinx's OP about saying where a post was moved from? That had to do mostly with moving posts from regional boards to the ISO board etc.
As for your post, you were suggesting a policy change when you asked about pulling a review while it was being contested, rather than leaving the review up as it was being contested. You should have kept the post about that, and kept it short and to the point. The fact that you used the suggestion board to complain about a bad review, made it a discussion post more than a suggsestion post, which turned it into a trainwreck, and also got it moved to your home board (probably the right place for that post). If it was just a suggestion it would have stayed here.
By the way, you do know, that you can report your own post and ask for it to be deleted, which would delete the entire thread?
