Did you ask the moderator if it would be possible to post a simple, "For anyone interested, please go to the Meet & Greet Board" type of message.  Maybe the Mod doesn't want M&G discussions on the local board, but wouldn't mind the occasional post giving a "head's up."

Maybe that might be a reasonable compromise.

I am wondering what the policy is for discussing topics on regional boards.
I hope I can articulate this well enough.

Many boards have different mods.

Here is the question...I am tiptoeing...

On the Carolinas board we are going to have our first Meet and Greet.

A few posts regarding this topic were posted on our board.

I posted on our board about the Meet and Greet

Our first one

The mod removed the post
He said it belonged on the Meet and Greet board

So many members here in this forum do not read ANY other boards but their local boards.

Why is it that some local boards have more freedoms, less drama and they allow their members to post stuff that benefits the community while some boards have issues.

I have read so many posts from so many regional boards about Meet and Greets, And now we want to have one in the Carolinas and our Mod won't let us discuss it on the board at all.

Is this fair?
I need some help...

I did a search on a few boards..Atlanta, Tampa and Boston and read dozens of posts about Meet and Greets. in fact the person who organizes the Tampa Meet and Greet posted on our Carolina board about his soiree.

I would love more than anything to be treated equal. Have the same rights as other posters.
I want what you want. What do I have to do?

Having been in the military I know how to use the chain of command.

Who wants to get on the bad side of a Mod?

Not I.

But I want what every member here wants.
Equality when it comes to board censorship. No one should be moderated differently because of personal tastes or popularity.

Mods should not be biased.

I understand that Mods are volunteers and put in their time and I respect them. I am only asking for the same in return.

I figured this board might have some answers.

I am not expecting this question to jeopardize my career or my membership. I want to be able to organize a social and get the word out to members of the Carolinas so they can decide whether they want to participate. If I don't have the tools to use(like so many other members do) I might as well forget the whole idea.

I am not doing this for myself, to drum up dates...I just want to have fun. Give others a chance to experience a Meet and Greet in the Carolinas just like other cities. There was plenty of interest a few hundred hits on the two posts.
I do know that many members only use the regional boards and therefore would miss out on the info.
Answer this. Why can a member from another region post about their meet and greet on my regional board but I am not allowed to?

I only want what is available to all other members.

I wish I never had to write this post.

I was just clearly stating what was going on.

I was not offended by anything you wrote.
Quite the contrary. I am happy that members chose to comment on  my post

I am the kind of Gal who is straight forward.
I don't play games and I don't like drama.

Games are for the bedroom.

I have 4 kids, two dogs, a boyfriend and quite a few hobbies I LOVE.

I don't really want to waste my time and effort to plan and host a Meet and Greet when I can't even use the resources that are available to other members.

It would be a wonderful thing if regional board policy was the same across the board.

Unfortunately fairness has not much to do with a discussion board or entity like TER where the mods and owner have absolute power. If anyone chooses to participate they are, for the most part, at the mercy of these people. The mods and owner make the rules and can change them at any time without so much as a lick of fairness. I post on here with this in mind and if my posts are rejected...I shrug and move on. Good Lord I have been posting for 2 years and not yet been unmoderated. Don't know why and really don't care. I can see your point, but don't get too upset about it. It is what it is!
