This morning I saw a tweet on the TER Twitter account linking to a post from this board.

I was not aware that TER can or does do this and frankly I'm not very comfortable with the idea.

I expect a certain amount of anonymity when posting here, although it's obviously not guaranteed. One of the reasons I do post here and not other boards is because I expect my posts will be shared only (or at least almost only) with the like minded people on this site, and not pushed out to a much larger twitterverse.

Not disputing TER's (assumed) right to post. I understand it's their forum and platform and I voluntarily add posts.  Just wondering if other's are uncomfortable with the practice?

And it's also on the TOS that everything you write here is property of TER.

Again, not disputing that TER CAN do this.

Obviously they can.

I am asking whether TER SHOULD do this.

What anonymity?  This is a public forum. Anyone can read it, even non-members.  Also, search engines point to posts in TER boards.

Anything you post on TER boards can be read by anyone.  That's why TER prohibits posts and review text that might identify someone or give other personal info such as an incall location.

TER is a company who's end goal is to make money.

Having a social media presence is a good driver of business in 2017.

Being that social media is making them money through exposure, yes, they in fact should do it because it helps them accomplish their goals.

The fact that you're salty just proves that you didn't read the fine print, which makes me wonder what else you can be suckered into...
