I tried to explain this to someone and they didn't get it, or didn't want to get the fact that we ladies are really sick and tired of seeing this crap on a daily basis about us.
Not fun and if it was cute at one point, it has lost it's luster years ago.
I am very tired of reporting post which are clearly breaking the rules only to be told we're going to let this one play out and let the ladies handle him. WTF? Are we following the rules or not?

Yet we see it time and time again day after fucking day. Poison, venon, poison, venom. It's not fun, and it's not pleasant. I really wish we could get some uniformity amongst the customer service people that we report these vile venomous threads to and wish they could follow the GD rules!
Never going to change. What would some of the guys do if they can't hooker bash?

Sure, there are still idiots here, but who the fuck cares about them? They are absolutely irrelevant in my world, and I treat them like I treat Rush Limbaugh - I ignore them, and I refuse to engage them in their idiocy (and have no doubts - like Rush Limbaugh, they know that they are nothing but idiots who like to bait others).
It was worse in the past, when the moderators - the folks in the position of 'authority,' as it were - were the ones talking about "old, fat hookers." Most of the guys who lament the 'old days' don't understand that it's one thing to have a hostile 'equal' (a mere participant like you and me), but it's another thing all together to have the folks in control of the board - the moderators - creating a hostile environment. It's the difference between having an idiot for a boss, and an idiot for a coworker. I'll take the idiot coworker over the idiot boss any day.
So in my mind, it has improved. It's not perfect, but then then, the world is not perfect. There will always be idiots. All we can do is ignore them. Welcome to the real world.

I've been fighting this battle since about 2003. I believe TER couldn't care less about people's feelings being stepped on, regardless of what the rules say; they enforce their own rules selectively AND ALWAYS HAVE, it's not a new phenomena. They also have quite a collection of unwritten rules that they pull out as needed. I believe that they like a lot of the drama because, love it or hate it, everyone gets involved - the nasty threads are also the longest threads. If only we could all bite our tongues and stay off those nasty threads, maybe they really would go away, but that is easier said than done.
Those of us who come on here and show their real personality will always get kicked around by those who are just playing a stupid game because we care about what we say and how other people respond - we take things to heart because we believe (foolishly, I guess) that people are genuine. The clowns who fling shit for fun like caged monkeys, and say things that they would never dare say in real life are immune to being wounded by words because they have separated themselves from their board alias. I get a huge kick out of the guys who say "oh, this is just an internet game I'm playing, in real life I'm a sweetheart".
No, you are not. You are who you are when you think no one is watching, the truest words I have ever heard.
Very good point, but things had cleaned up a LOT even better still. Just lately it's been a mess and some of the same old shit starting to happen again.

You're right, there are some posters who create a hostile environment that makes some members want to cancel their VIP (I've considered it). The best I can do is report the post and hope that TER cares. From my experience, they've removed posts that are clearly harassing to their members.
None of us should have to deal w/ hate and hostility anywhere so the more people to report these posters the better!
I do. That's the problem. I report posts and all I get back is "entitled to their opinion" or "we're going to let the ladies handle him" WTF does that mean? That's why I asked are we following the rules or not?
In my opinion, if a rule is being broken, then a goddam rule is being broken.
It ALSO said they are entitled to their opinion. Seriously folks, TER isn't looking for tattle tales. They want people to either ignore posts they don't like or challenge the posts they don't like. They want censorship to be a very little used option for only very serious issues. Thank God we have that here to some degree at least. Saturn routinely trashes people here. Do I want her banned? No. Do I report her posts to TER? Nope. She has every right to express her opinion. As do all of us. It's called freedom. We need more of it. Not less. Just my "free" thoughts. Peace. Blue.
And as far as this not being a place for tattle tales, this is a SELF MODERATED board, so what do you think that entails? That would mean reporting posts when necessary. I'm not ashamed that I've reported posts and a variety from posters outing providers' real names, place of employment just as much as hateful ones. There are no MODERATORS, remember? This has nothing to do w/ Saturn or any poster in general getting banned. Fuck freedom of speak if it's outing someone or causing a hostile environment for everyone other than your little five guy clique. That's my opinion (and many others), but I have no interest in hashing anything out w/ you, seriously it's a waste of time and a boredom for me these past few days.
I didn't purchase a VIP membership to come to a hostile environment and could care less if you accept that stance or not.
