Is there no limit to the number of registered handles one person can have?

Clearly there are some posters who are answering their own messages using different handles.  It sort of hurts the integrity of the message boards.

Please explain how it is "clear" that some posters are answering their own messages using different handles.

Limiting the number of handles won't solve the problem, because you can create a handle, post a message, delete the handle you just used and create a new one.

...I don't think I'll be participating on the boards anymore.

linkmeister - He is referring to Purelust, Pureslut, et al.  This knucklehead is wasting bandwidth with his drivel and adds nothing to any discussion.  He answers his own posts with aliases and it's always "eom".  I complained to GND about this and hopefully, she will correct the situation.  Sedagive.

ok, but is that enough reason to stop participating?
There's plenty of drivel and wasted bandwidth from legit posters.
I don't think limiting handles is the answer.
I hope GND cleans it up, but she's probably busy.
Maybe a good solution is to scroll down and ignore anything that starts with "pure--"

You may not have seen the thread, but in addition to Purelust's mutliple personalities all having a running conversation with themselves, he (presumably Purelust) tried to deceive others by replying using 2k 1 (with a space).

This would be like someone using G  2 (with a space) to insult someone and then disappear.  2k1 is understandably  pissed-off IMHO, but I agree, he shouldn't leave over this.  This is a lot different, however, than the guy who was giving zorro some heat using the "Here's zorro" alias, because he was clearly differentiating himself.  These latest attempts have been to deceive the 95% of the people who see it, read it and move on without ever catching the subtle difference in the alias.  I was in that group when I read it.

The question is what do you do to stop intentional abuse of the alias system by using similar names with the intent to deceive?

I think the best we can do is expose it (by posting right under it) and report it (mail to GND or TER).

Just remember, if you stop participating and stop fighting back, the terrorists win!

Apparently agency scammers aren't the only people that need to be exposed.

The best way of handling this kind of problem is to notify myself or GND.  My email address is [email protected]
