I would love to see this site treat providers and reviewers on an equal level. I have been threatened in appointments that if I didn’t preform a specific way, they would write a poor review, even if what they were asking was not in my comfort level. There is no way to report these things because I have no way of verifying the handle they use to post on this site. A provider response to reviews would very much help, and would cut down on the leverage the clients have. For example, they were not happy with a “rushed” time…. However failed to mention they were 45 min late? Or “she didn’t seem into it”, but no mention of how even after asked to shower the client still smelled so badly I almost puked!? These types of things and the ability to respond would help providers protect their business, identify fake reviews, and create an equal environment. One slanderous review can affect business, and every other major review site offers provider responses. In the real world, how do you think Google and Yelp would do if the business owner was not allowed to respond?
with the pros and cons batted back and forth. In the end, it made no dent in TER's current policy.
There are only two recourses that you have: 1. Take your case to TER, using whatever proof you can scrounge up and hope they take the review down. 2. Threaten the offender with being put on black lists if they carry out their threat. The best thing to do with a client who tries to force you out of your comfort zone is to hand them back their money and ask them to leave.
True, but what’s to stop them from writing a review anyway? It is extremely difficult I think to get them removed by TER, and I have heard of other ladies also writing bad reviews for providers just because
TER will look at the reviewer's history, and whether other gals have lodged the same complaints.
If he pulled this on you, then he's probably pulled it on others and I would hope they would complain also. It's at least worth a shot. To answer your question, nothing is going to stop them if they are dead set on writing a fake review.
If women were genuinely respected on this board, it could be an incredible space for both clients and providers. But instead, it caters to the lowest common denominator—the most base instincts of men.
There are so many women who, out of principle, won’t participate here because of the deeply ingrained misogyny that TER is built on. Those of us who do engage know the reality: fake reviews, disrespect, and no real recourse. I’ve personally asked for fake reviews to be removed, and it’s like shouting into the void. The truth is, I don’t expect that to change. Too many mongers here need to feel like they can lord power over providers to feel superior. Their egos couldn’t handle a platform where we were truly treated as equals. Respect and equality don’t fit into that fantasy—and that says more about them than it does about us.
