What happens if lets say TER does implement this policy, and one of your PMs gets outed by a provider who gets pissed at you? Do you really want something you send to a provider, and that is supposed to be private, a public record?

and frankly forewarding PMs to TER is childish. If you get a PM you don't like, ignore it and delete it.

the way to deal with that is to report the handle to TER or just ignore the person, and not what you are suggesting, which is akin to throwing out the baby with bathwater.. By your logic, we don't need PMs at all, because the whole purpose of PMs is having privacy. What's the value of PMs if privacy is taken away? There are some things shared that absolutely don't need to see light of the day..

I stil think TER should have taken my suggestion.

I said forward PMs is childish. If someone is harassing you over PM then yeah, report him. Though I wouldn't trouble myself, I'd just click ignore, that's why it's there.

And no the PMs aren't your property. Anything happening on these boards is the property of TER. Emails are your property.

and lack of overall grasp of English language are world known... Reporting is valid.. Forwarding, under right circumstances, still valid although can quickly become childish..  Ignoring is the best..

After all the nonsensical PM's you've sent me, do you know how many I've forwarded to ter? That'd be ZERO. And do you know how many of your nonsensical pm's I've replied to? Right! That'd be ZERO yet again!  

I'm working under the assumption that TER can look at PM content if they want, so if I report someone for harassing me via PM they can look for themselves. When I read "forwarding PMs to TER" I'm thinking "hey TER look what that big meanie said to me" and that seems childish.

But typically when you do report someone, they will say Post the PM or what have you..

I can't reveal the details without breaking the rules Tidwit wants changed, but he harassed me with a series of PMs early this year.  He was trying to provoke me to threaten him by falsely saying he knew something personal about me.  Of course, it was false. His plan was clearly to provoke me into saying something that would break TER's rules, either in a reply to his PMs or on the boards.  The attempt was so blatant and obvious I didn't fall for it.  But to see him come here now as if he's the innocent one is beyond laughable.
He'll no doubt deny the above but I'll stack up my credibility here against his any day.

Since his return he has proven he has learned nothing since he's been away.  He's a whiney, WKing drama Emperor who lies, distorts, manipulates and is hypersensitive and is sometimes downright delusional.

Like you I never had any "delusions" (not illusions) of him ever changing for any length of time.

So that of course included you, AND GAG even though he never promised, he did lay off after I asked him not to blast him when Rod first got back on here. He never makes promises to anyone but he did say it was highly likely he wouldn't and he didn't.

I gave Rod some really good advice about not posting too much too fast, to take it slow, not get emotional, ect.

Ya'll were nice when he first got reinstated, no one can deny that.

I have never used the blocking feature before, oops make that only once before, and that was liorr, who believe it or not was even more annoying than tidwit. But I can see how it might be tempting to put him on ignore where it comes to PM's. It took me at least a dozen "fuck you, go away and leave me alone" responses to his PM's before he finally took the hint.

I can only imagine what is going through that little pea brain of his while he is trying to figure out "why don't people like me?"

And IF he had followed my advice, these train wrecks wouldn't have happened. It's only been two weeks since he's been back and he was calling for admin yesterday on the GDB and now "begging" his words, to them here to change their policy on PMS which would literally do away with them. That his right of course but my advice was to be low key for a while.

You're right about the rest.  He's clueless and hopeless.

Obviously the bar has been lowered and while I am all for giving someone the benefit of the doubt, in his case it was a blunder although an entertaining one for a short while. It was clear that he would not be a good fit and would leak to curry favors with a few providers.

Of course, not having an audience may be problematical.

No doubt he is sitting at his computer sobbing softly to himself.

Even tried to convince him that he could be the sole mod...be able to read ALL the PM's...and even name the blog whatever he wanted.
