Reviewers Average Rating to compare

i think it would be very helpful if next to a reviewers name when listed under a provider to have his own review average posted next to the name.    would be very helpful when weighting the validity of the review.

example    reviewer Bob  gives Susan a 8/7 but his review average is   6.0   that means he really liked Susan ... compared to a guy who gives Susan a 9/9  but his average is  9.0   that means he gives all girls about the same.

if you look at many histories lately there are a number of guys giving all 9s or 10s to dozens of girls - i give them less weight than a guy who has a 7.0 average and gives a girl an 8/8

also helps reduce the fake reviews - i have seen profiles with one two or three reviews and they were all 10/10
a handle having a 10 average is a give away.

while some girls are 10/10 and some guys see only 10s  its just another useful tool to understand all the various ratings.

... or didn't like a particular provider compared to the reviewer's norm. But I don't like the implication that this average would be helpful in determining the validity of a review.

Some people tend to only see highly-rated providers. That's my norm, for example.  Thus my average score will be higher than for someone who TOFFTTs a lot or doesn't mind seeing lower-rated providers.  I don't think that makes the reviews of the reviewer with the higher average any less valid.  You seemed to recognize that when you said "some guys see only 10s".

Anyway, you can with one click see all of the review scores for a reviewer and quickly get a sense for not only the scoring  but how it's evolved over time, variability (which an average hides), who was reviewed etc.

Two reviewers could have the same average, but one might give nearly the same score to all gals indicating that he or she is not particularly discerning while another may have a wide range of scores indicating that he or she is putting much more thought into the scoring.

The latter would be a reviewer I'd give more credence to

So we need a frequency distribution graph for each of us displayed with a nice line showing where the current review lands?

I think it would be neat and probably not all that hard to implement -- probably will still be low value to me but might be something others really like.

but as they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words -- and I'd add typically better understood as everyone get bored and starts ignoring the blowhard about 1/4 the way through ;-)

Best of the Season to all!

Well why shouldn't this go in the same direction as sports and political polling, our other favorite pastimes, have gone, towards heavy analytics?

So I have two suggestions that will immediately be grounds for more creative thinkers:

1) Just like the study of baseball stats has been named sabermetrics, this field needs a name.  "Analytics" comes to mind but might be too generic.

2) Each reviewer's distribution of ratings could be labeled with an easy to understand "cup size" grade.  Wide distribution of scores?  A cup.  Normal distribution?  C cup.  Narrow distribution, small sample size?  "Puffy".

More over some of us figure that providers without review will do poorly so if we had a poor session, but not really a case of bait & switch or outright fraud we just don't submit a review. That means my average will be higher do to the sample bias of my reviewing activity.
