How about a server upgrade? ....regular_smile

Spinning dots and hour glasses drive me bonkers.
Pages sometimes take forever to load, and same with the mail system.
I do have high speed internet at my two locations, so that is not the issue.
It would make multi-tasking easier too.

...of open memory, fast processor. i have more issues w/the speed of getting into mail....

seconds to load. It doesn't seem to be related to the number of users online.

It happens when reading discussion board posts as well as searching reviews.

Sometimes on my palm pre it just times out. (not the mobile site, the regular one.)

I am using Vista and both dual core and quad core computers, and it doesn't seem to be related to the computer.

I guess I'll try upgrading the RAM.

In my day job I do performance tuning of slow websites.
Ping me if you're interested in me taking a look.

Thanks for starting this thread since I was about to ask where do we post questions related to access to the TER site, itself.  :)

I'm also seeing performance issues but mine tend to be related to stalls while posting to the board or while navigating from a thread back to a board.

My gut tells me it's some kind of server load issue (not necessarily a hardware issue) causing the stalls.  Sometimes a page refresh works, sometimes it doesn't.

It happens so often to me that I've learned to copy and paste posts to a text editor until I can confirm the post actually gets sent.

I would imagine these lags might contribute to multiple, duplicate posts being screened by mods.  After submitting a post, I'll get a "waiting for response" message in my browser (Mozilla Firefox) status bar and I think at that point the post has actually been sent and received by the server but the server hasn't acknowledged it and the browser waits for the response.  If I use my stop button and re-submit, sometimes it will work and sometimes it won't.

I reported this using the support e-mail address about a year or more ago but the problem continues to happen and with some frequency.

I've got a super-fast cable Internet connection, so I know it's not that and while my system isn't the fastest on the block my system is idling while the browser is waiting for a response.

If there is anything I can do to gather info to help troubleshoot this, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to help out.

I currently don't have access to my inbox so we'll have to find another way to communicate.

Peace...
