There are stated rules for the use of aliases, but at least a couple of the rules/guidelines allow for the use of aliases if one wants to start shit. Because of that, the alias gets abused. I understand from reading the whinings of those who insist on talking shit, i mean, using an alias, that now only one is allowed. Is that true, and, are you going to track which alias belongs to whom so they can be controlled, still? Or, are you going to take away the ability to use an alias to start shit, or trash talk, or any other reason that can, and usually does, start riffs? I obviously don't know all the reasons to have an alias. Some people will use them to discuss STD. My question is, why discuss STD's here? Wouldn't a healthcare professional/doctor be better,more appropriate/trustworthy? I sure wouldn't want to take advice from someone who has STD's or has had them. That's like asking pig-pen what the best way is to bathe. DOH!!
Currently, most people on the GD board are using aliases. Why can't people request in writing to admin. to receive an alias, by giving the reason, and an alias that they want to use? If people know that they have specific and rigid guidelines to follow in order to receive permission to use an alias, as well as know that they can be turned down during the process will actually cause most who want one just to have one, to stop trying to get one. Also, follow them on the board. If they use the alias for a reason different then what they said during the "application"/"request" process, then they get that and all future aliases taken away. I mean, if they're gonna act like kids, might as well treat them like kids. And, if they leave here because they can't use an alias to talk trash, then good riddance. I know some people/regulars might get ahold of this and really start a stink, but, thy shouldn't have gotten used to starting shit just to start it, and being allowed to get away with it with lithe or no problems. If they start shit, and somebody gives them shit right back, then the alias has accomplished what they wanted, and sometimes the one without the alias, who got 'picked on' gets run off and the alias stays and brags. That's gotta stop.
Orrrrrr, just do away with aliases altogether.
