Providers should be able to post a brief ( max 50 words?) response  to reviews.  Maybe to say '' thanks'' or '' who is this?  I don't let nobody fuck my ass? ''  or whatever.

I completely agree! It would be nice to be able to put in our two cents when someone says something untrue about us... or even just to express our thanks when someone says we're top notch!

I hope this spurs some good discussion. Pretty sure there will be good pros&cons.

This should be in the Suggestion & Policy forum but I really like this idea actually :)

Apple doesn't post a review on the iPhone, consumers do.

Providers say thanks all the time by PM or email. So this is just a way for them to argue a negative review. There is already enough drama here, we don't need more.

Now if a provider is having a run of negative reviews, maybe it's time to evaluate her business model. Once she does this she can explain it in an ad along with a special offer to returning clients or new clients.

If you want to do something about reviews get rid of the jacketed up looks and performance scores. To many providers are hooked on these numbers. No-one is a 10 everyday to everyone. I personally won't see a provider that demands 10s or no reviews in order to see them.

While I can see where an actual correction might be at times helpful, it might be better to leave a flawed system alone.

Once a provider has several reviews, a general idea should be obvious as to her appearance and performance.

I can't imagine TER changing a review just on a providers say so, would they have to contact the reviewer on each "correction" request?

Perhaps there could be some discussion before the first review is published. Not so much for scoring, but for some of the other information. Seems like in many cases, there is a lot of missing information, and if the first guy doesn't do a good job with the review (or just doesn't bother to find out all the details), some of the information seems to stick.

As far as scoring goes, I think the low scorers and the high scorers tend to cancel each other out.

And whats gong to stop a provider from just responding like its a fake review, when the scores are bad and you don't write what she wants you to write in the review?

Don't we already have enough drama on the boards?

There was already a site that allowed that and it was a disaster. Just a bitch fest

I've been suggesting this for years. My favorite site in France allowed a brief reply and no one really used it unless it was an out of the ordinary review.

I would personally reply to the guy who wrote that Greek wasn't on my menu, after he admitted he showed up almost 2 hours late and a little drunk.

Most review sites allow a brief reply to a negative review.
