This feature is still not functioning.  Any idea when it will be operational again?

I was not aware that is was not working. I will check it out.This is a good point to start talking about private messaging. Since the current private messaging system reaches only the people that decide to check it in the general discussion area, we have been kicking around the idea of writing the feature into the site itself. This would mean thatmessaging could be automatically checked when you log into the site. We could also set it up so that you could send a message from inside a review. Please provide us feedback, features that you would want added to this app, ect.

I like the idea of "you have a private message" when you login.  I like the idea of being able to send a message from within a review, to ask a question of a reviewer.When sending a private message, I would like a checkbox "notify recipient via email (if possible)".  This would only work if the recipient said it was ok in his/her member options to "allow email notification of private messages".

Whenever I attempt to click on a received message to read it an error message appears instead saying the URL is not found.  This has been the case for quite some time now & I posted about the problem when it first came to my attention.  You (or some other Staf member) replied something to the effect that an outside company was responsible for the maintenance of this feature & that you had brought it to their attention.  You further stated that if they didn't get it corrected that you would write your own program for this so that the other company could be eliminated.  Therefore I'm a little confused by the  reply saying that you were unaware of the problem. (?)Back to my original question...can you give us an estimate of when the problem will be corrected?Thanks

You can post and read new ones now. The old ones have been lost, because restoring them may mess up the public messages. The private message system seams to mess up every few weeks. The people the write the software know that there is a bug. They are trying to find out where it is.Sorry

I'd also like the option of clearing the private mailbox.And it would be great to be notified when you log on that you have a message.

This feature will require that we write a new private messaging program. We have talked about it and have decided to do it. We need to just figure out when. We will keep you up to date.
