And with his passing went a part of my childhood. Growing up and loving the game of baseball, he was my idol, look up to him. There wasn't a player or a man I idolized more growing up, and even till his passing...I still think Dowing served him a fat one one purpose.
I'm sad.

Always wanted his rookie card. Then as Adult was able to purchase
both of my favorite #44 rookie cards, him and Reggie Jackson. God Bless Hank!

Wish I still had them but they got tossed out years ago. I had the complete set for two consecutive years in the late 50s and god knows what they'd be worth now. They would certainly have had Hank in them during his Milwaukee years. He was a Yankee-killer back then but, of course, he killed everybody. A great gentleman and ball player.
