The reality is that both tenders are having terrific seasons...as are both units. Best of 3 and whoever comes out with that extra jump will win each game. I also don't expect we'll be seeing shoot outs anymore LOL
Funny...that's what the Chicago media said back in '10 about Antti Niemi...and yet the parade was in Chicago. I suspect that will happen again this year
When I played net (and I did through college)...I liked seeing about 25 shots a game. It is tough when you don't see (or feel) the puck for long periods of time.
So I'll try this again...Roy was run out of Montreal for being a POS...backstopped an unbelievably talented Av's team and earned his "credentials" there. But even during his zenith the locals said the same things about Roy as you are suggesting about Crawford.
Until an entire body of work is completed...it's premature to discount where Crawford (or any other goalie) will fall in history.
However I've watched Crawford play for more years than most. He played quite a few in Rockford as an Ice Hog...and comparing his skill today to those days is something a casual observer as yourself fails to see.
And I don't think I've missed many games in his NHL career either. I watched a lot of greats...and while I don't believe he'll ever be a HOF candidate...he is having a career season.
Last I checked there's only two goalies still playing. Wonder why LOL
