Of course this is a personal opinion. An unsubstantiated claim.  But let's look at the reasons for my assumption. 1) the dodgers had the best era in the nl. 2) the best batting average - dodgers. .. 3) there are at least 5 phillies post season 2009 that are in top 7 of rbi leaders. 4) ibanez werth Howard .... All good players but.. when i these guys hit multi homeruns against the era nl team it starts to look sketchy...  Totally unsubstantiated claim. I'm not hating on the phillies... the best team won in the NLCS.  This claim Did run through my head though when i saw them hit so much against the rockies and dodgers.   At the end it was the dodgers fault they were in that position; they showed glimpses of leaving men in scoring position on base time after time with the rockies and continued to leave men on vs phillies.

now so visible, do you think players are going to risk being caught?

I have two off season golf friends who play on Giants -currently,  and they are constantly checked.  As are all major league players.

Any current player who is taking steroids will be caught in less than 6 months.

Nobody on the Phillies is "ripped" like McGuire, Bonds, Canseco, etc. were.   Even Ryan Howard is a little bit "dough-boy."   BIG dough-boy but not ripped.   Same with Jason Wyerth. He's talk and skinny.

Come on, get real.

It is possible for a team to hit a hot streak as well. They look really good and it doesn't hurt to have that stud pitcher Cliff Lee on the roster!
I read in a magazine a couple of years ago a comment I believe it was by Gaylord Perry, and he said that the way baseballs are made now is contributing to the power surge the past dozen years or so. When I was a kid, we'd play on the sandlot forever and play til the ball was just about obliterated. When it finally split, I'd take them apart and I remember that in those days, the horse-hide was only attached to the ball with glue on the seams where the stiching was. From what I understand, "new" baseballs are glued all over when the hide is attached with rubber cement, thus making the ball jump off the bat more. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this was a conributing factor cause I've seen guys make shitty swings and the ball goes over the freakin fence!
Anyone taken a ball apart lately?

Bank Park is only 2nd to Yankee Stadium for most HR's this season.  Normally, good pitching overcomes good hitting.  The weather on Wednesday evening was ideal, hence an offensive explosion.

What really happened was the Dodger pitching collapsed, except for game #2.

Manny Ramirez of the Dodgers was suspended for 50 games for what? Busted for illegal, peformance enhancing drugs, and taking a masking agent in an attempt to hide the drugs. With multiple random checks, no player is going to get away with using drugs these days.
Nah, the Phillies are just GOOD! 35 runs in 5 games!
