How the Knicks play doesnt matter to James. He knows they are bad. If LeBron wants to leave the Cavs, the ONLY place he'd go to is the Knicks. Obviously, it is more than just basketball. It is about marketing opportunities and becoming a mega media star. In New York, he'd be bigger than MJ. Since LA already has Kobe (and he is NOT going to play second fiddle to Kobe on the Lakers or play for the paper Clips) there is no other place to go other than New York.

My gut reaction however is that he signs a short (i.e. 3 year deal with the Cavs) to see the direction of the franchise. After that contract, he is still relatively young and will demand another mega contract. If he is happy with Cleveland's position, he stays. Otherwise he moves on to New York, LA (if Kobe is on the way out) or even Brooklyn.
