Chris Paul is demanding a trade to either knicks,Lakers, or Magic. He wants to play with another superstar. Which superstar wants to be only superstar on team with heat having three. whats going to happened, there will be 5 teams with 3 superstars and rest of league will be horrible. Just watch what 3 MORONS STARTED, LEBRON you really look like an idiot, you totally lost respect of jordan and barkley, why players like ewing, barkley, malone, stockton, kidd respect you when they worked there tails off to win and you are taking a shortcut, it figures you have no heart or courage.
What exactly did Lebron James due that millions of fans, ex-players (no current player is ever going to come out and be negative when they have to deal with James) and many in the media feel the need to be critical of his decision to join Wade and Bosh and play for the Heat?
Number One, James negotiated an opt out clause in his contract. It gave him the right TO BE A FREE AGENT and test the market. Just because he was drafted by the Cavs, does not mean he has to make a lifetime commitment to Cleveland. Maybe if the owner/GM was better able to surround James with talent (and believe me, Cleveland, outside of LeBron, didn’t have another top 50 player in the league) James may have stayed. So he chose to exercise his right to test free agency and play for the Heat. He wanted to have other stars on his team. AND HE TOOK LESS MONEY TO DO SO.
Number two, the stupidity of people saying James has no guts to stay in Cleveland and be the sole superstar or that he is destroying his "legacy" by joining forces with other superstars is pathetic and ridiculous. Did anyone stop to ask themselves do they really KNOW what's important to James? Maybe he is NOT interested in being "Michael Jordan" and and potentially being a top 5 player in NBA history. Maybe James is content on just being an All Star every year, winning championships as part of a mini dream team and one day being elected into the Hall of Fame. Not everyone in the Hall of Fame is Wilt Chamberlain (Alex English is in the Hall of Fame...not someone whose name rolls off your tongue when thinking of the greats in league history) Not everyone is in the "A" room of the Hall of Fame. Maybe James wants his legacy to be a Hall of Famer who won multiple championships and not necessarily have the legacy of an All Time Great.
This criticism of James is ridiculous and really unwarranted. People are upset because as they wanted him to stay in Cleveland for life and be the sole star trying to win a championship. Not James fault or concern. If you want to criticize James for how he handled his departure from Cleveland (leaving them hanging to the last second and setting up a one hour TV special to make his annoucement) you are completely within your right to do so. But you can not blame him for leaving.
He has to what is RIGHT for him. He did not care to stay in Cleveland just because fans/ex players/many media outlets think that's the right choice for his legacy. He has clearly defined what he wants his legacy to be: Winning multiple championships as part of a core, and not trying to do it alone. Good for him.
As far as the NBA becoming a league of trios of superstars playing together on 5 teams and making the rest of the league obsolete is a LONG way from occurring. This was a unique situation where 3 players in their prime were able to join forces. It is NOT going to become the norm in the league.
they are saying if lebron and bosh can hold a team hostage. they are saying who hell cares about loyalty, wade is happy he will have all rings and accolades and lebron will be his side kick, he will be like pippen forgotten.
There are a lot of interesting exhibits, particularly the ones devoted to the early NAIA and AAU teams. Basketball history expands far beyond the NBA and the NCAA. A great trip for any basketball junkie.
I think these guys should be applauded for taking a team approach to a sport which is replete with thugs who have the "me first" mentality. Riley and Wade worked on this for three years, dumping contracts and making us endure losing seasons and crappy play.
Hey let us be real. Oscar was just as accomplished as Lebron was when he forced a trade to Milwaukee because he didn't want to go to Baltimore when Cincinnati was starting a youth movement. Not that they where established Superstars then But Abdul-Jabbar and Dandridge would certain fall into the category of being a very good player. If Oscar doesn't do what he does, then we aren't even talking about Lebron being able to go to another team or making several millions of dollars.
