As for tonight's game, Johnnie D. came up big. The two out single kept the inning alive, but the double steal on the next pitch (never saw anything like that in over 40 yrs. as a baseball fan) took that nasty slider out of the equation for Lidge, because of the WP risk. As a result, after hitting Texiera, he had to use the fastball to A-Rod and Jorge, and got burned. Mo was his usual self in closing out the game, breaking bats and retiring the side on just seven pitches. Result: 7-4 Yankee win, 3-1 Series lead.
Despite having Cliff Lee going tomorrow night, the Phils are in trouble. As a result, I have to buy champagne tomorrow...just in case...
only Yankee fans and Yankee haters. If the Phillies win tonight, their fans will sudddenly appear and will be whooping and hollering. If they lose, Philly fans will disappear into the night, but the Yankee haters will still be around. In the meantime, Yankee fans just smile!
