Randy Johnson tries to become the 24th pitcher to win 300 games tonight against the "Natnals." Assuming he gets it this year, if not tonight, who does the panel think will the next 300-game winner? I opt for Roy Halladay. He's 32 years old and has 140 wins. He should win 10 more this year, leaving him 150 away.

I would like to see Jamie Moyer get to 300.  If he plays long enough he has a shot. He is a class act and over the years has shown himself to be a great pitcher.

I live in AZ and was here for the WS, I gotta tell not to many people were sad to see Randy Johnson leave Phoenix. Do you remember the incident when he first got to NY with the camera man. It's hard to root for him, even though winning 300 games is quite an accomplishment.

Given the rise the bullpen in the game over the past three decades, it's amazing that TBU will be joining Greg Maddux, Roger Clemens, and Tom Glavine (who was released by the Braves today) in the 300-win club.  In an era where pitch counts, and bullpen strength have become key components to pitching strategy, you would think that this benchmark would would no longer be on the horizon for even the game's finest.  Yet it obviously still is reachable.

Not sure whether Roy Halladay can make 300.  Even if he wins 25 this year, that still leaves him 145 short, and needing to average 15/yr. over the next decade.  Not impossible, but a stretch.  If her were three years younger...

is .647, and I think he should retire ASAP!

I didn't know that he is the only 300-game winner to defeat all 30 major league teams.

What is the single record in all of sports that will NEVER be broken?

Not Dimaggio's hit streak or Ripken's consecutive games or Wilt's 100 points.....

Try Cy Young's 511 wins.

Anybody still win 25 games in one year? Nope. Do it for 20 years straight and you still fall short.

I think you're right about that.  Now that I think of it, how the hell did Cy Young do it?
