What does a $110 million contract buy a person these days?

Apparently a lot of house.

A real lot of house.

Life & Style is reporting that LeBron James, who recently signed a six-year, $110 million deal with the Miami Heat, has started the paperwork to buy a $49.5 million mansion in the most expensive portion of Coral Gables, Fla. The home was once owned by Pat Riley, and was taken off the market shortly after "The Decision."

The home is the most expensive in Coral Gables, according to Life & Style, and features:

* eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms;

* 880 feet of waterfront;

* a master suite with a full gym;

* a private guest suite with its own tennis court and courtyard on an acre of land.

* a 150-foot dock

Taxes are about $1 million per year, with an additional $150,000 price tag for utilities. South Florida auto magnate Alan Potamkin owns the home, and he has listed the home for $49.5 million.

Life & Style reports it's a "slam dunk" the home will soon belong to James.

Jordan: "I wouldn't have called up Larry and Magic"

3 Recommend Michael Jordan takes a mini-shot at the LeBron James-Dwyane Wade-Chris Bosh troika, saying he never would have arranged for a superstar conglomerate during his playing days.

Said Jordan at the American Century Championship golf tournament in Stateline, Nev.:

"There's no way, with hindsight, I would've ever called up Larry, called up Magic and said, 'Hey, look, let's get together and play on one team . . .

"But that's . . . things are different. I can't say that's a bad thing. It's an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys."

Dwyane Wade yesterday mentioned the attacks on the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001, when describing the possible reaction to a losing streak next season by the Miami Heat, according to AOL Fanhouse.

Speaking at a charity basketball game he and former Heat star Alonzo Mourning hosted in Miami, Wade said the team would be a target of opponents next season after the signings of free agents Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh.

"We're going to be wearing a bull's-eye," Wade said, according to AOL FanHouse. "But that's what you play for. We enjoy the bull's-eye. Plus, there's going to be times when we lose two, three games in a row, and it seems like the world has crashed down. You all are going to make it seem like the World Trade is coming down again, but it's not going to be nothing but a couple basketball games.

"When the schedule comes out, people will be looking for the Lakers and Heat, to see when they play us. I feel like I'm a new player in Miami. That's how excited I am."

Neither James nor Bosh played in the game, which featured mostly NBA journeymen and former players.

Wade also addressed those who have predicted the Heat will flop with the additions of James and Bosh.

"I'm not really concerned about what people say anymore," he said. "I've made my comments. Inside here, we know how competitive we're going to be."

He said he will be motivated by the doubters.

"My whole career is built on fuel," Wade said. "It's always been there. It's not going to change what I do with my life. It's not going to change the way I am as a person. But it fuels you. And we all need that. Every athlete, every competitor needs something to fuel them. It's going to happen throughout the year."

MIAMI (AP) -- Dwyane Wade is apologizing for using the words "World Trade" while answering a question about the upcoming Miami Heat season.

Wade used the phrase Sunday before the annual charity basketball game he co-hosts with Alonzo Mourning.

While giving a answer about how the team could react to a losing streak this coming season, Wade said, referring to reporters, "You all are going to make it seem like the World Trade has just went down again."

Wade was not immediately available for further comment. He was traveling to Los Angeles for a television appearance Monday night.
