USC stripped??

What does everyone think about the possibility of the NCAA and BCS, stripping USC of their National Championship, due to the fact that Reggie Bush accepted cash during his last year there?  Plus there is talk of taking his Heisman from him.  Sounds as tho Tommy Tuberville is for the idea.

opened the holes for Reggie Bush to run through. Hey! I'm from a rival Pac-10 school and have no love for the Trojans, but I am kinda thinking so what. If the NCAA wants to impose future sanctions, I guess thaT IS alright. I do not undersTAND THE rationale or the motives for the NCAA to strip USC of their Championship or take away Reggie Bush's Heisman. I really do not trust the NCAA to do the right thing.

THE NCAA are being hypocrites because they allowed the big money to enter college sports. To me when has money not corrupted? I'm shocked schools are cheating, simply shocked.

There seems to be an obscure BCS rule, overlooked by most, that if a program if found to have violated NCAA rules, such as a player accepting money, then they can be stripped of any championships and awards received during that time.  Don't know the exact quote or that much about the particular rule.  Just that it has been reported that it is possible and could happen.  My team, USC's opponent in that game, Okla. has stated that they would not accept a championship that way, as they were outplayed that game.  However it seems that Auburn and former coach Tuberville would.

The NCAA can impose sanctions but they can't take away USC's national title because it was a BCS championship, not an NCAA event. Same with the Heisman Trophy.  The NCAA has no control over that.

Read the USA Today article by PAC 10 reporter Steve Wieberg, that describes the investigation of Bush and basketball player O.J. Mayo.  USC has already forfited 21 victories in which Mayo played, and could be forced to forfit all games that Bush played.  The NCAA has the power to strip titles from schools that are found guilty of infractions, and the BCS states the same with their rules.  Bush has been accused of receiving illegal payments and was allowed to reside in a $575,000.00 house while in college.  So far Bush has declined to answer allegations or cooperate with the investigation.  The Heisman commitee has the right to remove the award if it is found the allegations are warrented.

Either the article was wrong or you misinterpreted it.  The NCAA can take away titles but there is no NCAA title in D1 football. The championships that USC won were an AP national title and a BCS championship. The BCS has rules to take away a title if a team used an ineligible. The accusations against Bush with him being given a house to live in while at USC. The charge is that sports agents who were trying to sign him let his parents live in the house rent-free in San Diego.
