High five, anyone?

I will hope for an inspired Game 5 for Orlando...while rubbing one OUT looking at that picture some more.  Dang me!

The ONLY good use for a Lakers outfit. ;)

In order for it to be "over."  Maybe I'm wrong but did they change regulations in the last 4hrs??  Mmmmmmm.  I would love to see a replay of 2006.  Or of 2008 for that matter.  BWHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH.

...fat lady has shown up & is warming up. Big choke for the Magic in the end. I just hope we can win the next game @ home & let the lakers celebrate on their own court.....

One of the Greatest announcers of all time!
What was, "the butter's chillin" "fat lady
is singin" etc

The door's closed the light's out the butter's getting hard the eggs are coolin' and the jello's jiggling!!

Laker games are just not the same without him.

At least Vin Scully is still calling Dodger games.

I wonder if Chick's ever been wrong?  I never saw it but then I haven't had a chance to watch it from way back when.

A vastly overrated announcer. Hearn had become a cliche of himself that last few years that he worked.

You can attack the Lakers all you want but only someone that is seriously misguided would criticize Chick Hearn. Yeah, he slipped in his 70's but NO ONE influenced the game like Chick.

Just a few of his phrases that are a staple in the NBA:

Slam Dunk
Yo-yoing the dribble
Air ball
No harm no foul
The mustard's off the hot dog
Charity Stripe

Need more? There are plenty. Overrated? You gotta be kidding. try to name one announcer in ANY sport that topped Chick. The only guy close is Vinny but even he did not contribute to the lexicon of his sport like Chick.

Tusayan, you are one confused puppy

I have lived all of the country, NY, Wash DC, Miami, Denver, LA and now in Phx. Chick was the best of the best. These new play by play guys couldn't carry Chick's microphone.

Scroll down and check out the Chick-isms.  I didn't know there were that many.

Grew up in San Diego and listened to Chick on the radio all the time.  Butter wouldn't have melted in his mouth with his cool delivery.

Last year, Lakers were in the other end of things.  When they were down 0-2, it was over.  When they blew it big time to go down 1-3, it was officially over.  In 06?  I think there's a bit of a difference between championship round and what.. first round?  And the team now and the team made up of Kobe and some.. dudes.  The team that featured the guy with hands made of bricks as the starting center?  They were never going to win.

It may be over but it's quite obvious that the fat lady is not here yet. Looooove the outfit. Makes me want to root for my team even harder.:)

Whenever the Magic get in a close game, especially when they have a lead late in the game, they get the mind-set of, "Okay, what can go wrong now? What new way can we find to blow it this time?" You would think that with as many close games as they've played up to this point, they would have figured out how to finish games.

Didn't Orlando watch and learn from the mental mistakes Denver made in the Western Conference Finals? 11 seconds left, Orlando has the ball and up by 3 points, and they throw the ball into Howard. The Lakers would never do that w/Shaq. OK, so he clanks 2 free throws, then Orlando traps Kobe 70 feet from the basket. Then Nelson forgets to foul, or at least put pressure on Fisher, or at least force him to drive to the basket. Let him have 2 points. They can then play the free throw game with only 4 or 5 seconds left.

I wouldn't be surprised if Orlando wins on Sunday. But if this series goes back to LA, I expect the Lakers to treat the Magic similar to what happened in game 6 last year.

Lakers are that much better than Orlando. The Magic could just as easily be up 3-1 themselves if they had only played smarter. But, shoulda, coulda, woulda.

...Lakers have the playoff & coaching experience, that's the little difference that makes it big! We'll be back next year if they re-sign Turk & the Pollock center, lol! Prob a rematch! Celtics are too old....

Cleveland will make a strong effort to get Lebron some more help. The Magic should have a healthy Nelson for a full season, so that'll be a big plus.

But it's too late.  Lakers know all about it.  It came down to the coaching decision and missed free throws.  Van Gundy decided not to faul.  It was also him who drew a play for a rookie at the end of game 2.

that the difference would be the Zen Master.  He doesn't make mistakes like that.

but it is over. No way the Lakers lose 3 in a row to this Magic team.

Yup, it's in the refrigerator. And Rina, you are not old enough to remember a game that Chicky put in the fridge and the Lakers wound up losing. I only remember it happening once.
