Ron Gardenhire, the Twins manager, who pulled his hurler, noting his prior tendinitis and pitch count said he was protecting him and would do the same thing again-  While I think Gardenhire is a good manager, I can't disagree with him more-Did he ask the pitcher how is arm was? This should have been the pitcher's call in my view and a clear case of overmanaging-The guy is a major league pitcher and a man-Does he need someone to 'protect' him- I say 'HORSEPUCKY!'  The guy had a reasonable shot for a lifetime memory and a no-no-If they get a hit, OK, then jerk him-but decisions like this make my asshole want to suck a lemon-1rob....there, I feel better....OUT

Bob Gibson or Don Drysdale, the manager would have gone back to the dugout with his head in his hands.
