Thanks to tampa Bay for spanking the Hurricanes tonight.
I don't expect much out the Blueshirts against Washington but ya never know.

Would be nice for Chicago to beat Detroit Sunday afternoon to make it in also. NHL needs it's big markets in teh playoffs

Washington should win in 6,but if they run into hot goalie like in the past it is a different story.

I was having flash backs of last year. I am so relieved and elated at the moment. I'll worry about Washington later. Tonight it's time to just enjoy.

They have to play Washington. Then again look at last year!

The 6-0 loss to the Rangers was between two different teams last December, so kind of agree with the above posters thoughts on the upcoming series.
We'll soon see..

As I have said many times here, I am not sure why Sather still has his job. It's been 14 years of futility. All the Rangers have managed to accomplish over these many years is to have gone from a horrible team (one that missed the playoffs from 1998-2005) to a mediocre team (one that has made the playoffs in 4 of 5 years but can't advance past the second round). Winning two playoff series in 14 years is not that impressive. The idea is to compete for a cup, not squeak into the playoffs as the 8th seed

I suspect this year will be no different. Yes, they have played very well against the Caps this season, but that's prob. a detriment. They have Washington's attention and they won't sneak up on them like they did in 2009 (Rangers went up 3-1 before the Caps won the last three) Unless Lundqvist is beyond stellar, I can't see them winning this series. Caps in 5 and if Lundqvist is brilliant, the Rangers extend it to 6.

Ah yeah but he has a higher percent average of allowed goals then the Caps goaltender and the Caps are an entirely different team now from December.
It'll be interesting for sure. Any chance you'd like place a small wager. Im visiting Vegas in a few weeks.

Rangers are done in 5 games.

Typical Rangers. 4 periods played and 1 goal scored.

In March they scored 2 goals in 3 games and got 5 out of 6 points. Scoring goals is like pulling teeth with the Blue Shirts especially since their PP sucks.

This looks to be a long defensive series. I hope Lundqvist can carry them through.
