the lakers will be fine. maybe not title winners fine, but scary playoff team fine. the ravens will never be ok until they realize joe flacco sucks. i mean, god he is awful. id take any high school qb in the country over that scrub. ray rice should get 25 rushes a game and catch about 12 dump off passes a game too. joe flakey will never win a game for you, you win in spite of him
Allthough both teams may make the playoffs but it is obvious both teams are crumbling fast. Both teams started the season loaded with talent, both have been hammered by injuries and both came into their seasons with talk of championships.
The Lakers have lost 5 of 6. Just got manhandled by the Jazz and Cleveland
The Ravens just fired the OC after last second field goal losses to the Steelers and Redskins.
My opinion The lakers will eventually get it together and go deep into playoffs. The Ravens will be a one and done in the playoffs.

We live in such a "What have you done for me today" world with respect to sports viewership its pathetic. Nobody exhibits any patience. We are so quick to annoint this player or team as "great" after ONE performance or so quick to pronounce a team as "awful" or "done' after a mini loosing streak, it boggles my mind. People need to understand that sports is a marathon and not a sprint.
At the end of the day the Lakers will be fine....can we let D'Antoni have a little bit of time to implement his system with a healthy Steve Nash and Pau Gasol?
I'll respond to the Ravens because I am a passionate football fan. And before you say anything, I am a Pittsburgh Steeler season ticket holder, so I detest the Ravens.
808Transplant: You think the Ravens at 9-4, just having lost two hard fought games at the wire are now collapsing? Come on. Please. That's football. I am sure if they go out this week and win, all we'll hear about is how Caldwell was the perfect offensive coordinator replacement and they are now "back" in the Championship hunt. Back? They never left. They are the same formidable team, who will be just as tough in the post season as they were before loosing to the Steelers (when they were 9-2) two weeks ago. Would you really be shocked to see the Ravens in the Super Bowl. You shouldnt be.
Kweezy: Joe Flacco sucks?? Give me a break. Did you watch the AFC Championsip game last year? He was the BEST QB on the field (and that says something when the other QB was Tom Brady) Is it Flacco's fault that Lee Evans dropped a perfectly thrown ball that should of sent the Ravens to the Super Bowl. If Evans catches the pass, we are not having this conversation. Also, how many QB's do you think have won at least one playoff game in each of their first 4 years as a starter??? Peyton Manning didn't do it. Tom Brady didn't do it. Aaron Rodgers didnt do it. Drew Brees didnt do it. Eli Manning didnt do it. Roethlisberger didnt do it. And these are guys are considered the games best. All Flacco has done is won multiple playoff games (Heck Matt Ryan hasnt even won one playoff game yet in his career) Is Joe Flacco the best in the game? No one would ever say yes. But, there are prob. 20-25 teams in this league that would die and go to heaven to have him as a starter
Curly W: Robert Griffin III as the next Tom Brady? Give me a break. Talk about overeaction to 3/4 of a season. Is Griffin playing any better than Cam Newton did last year? (last year's one hit wonder, who by many media accounts was well on his way to a hall of fame career.) I don't think so. And now people think Cam Newton is awful. Can we please let Griffin play a few more years before you even mention his name with Brady's. Tom Brady (and you can put Peyton Manning here as well) is an immortal. He and Peyton are on the same level of Unitas, Montana, Baugh, Elway, Marino and any of the other all time greats you want to throw in there.
So let's take a step back and not rush to judgement on a mere few games. The Ravens are still a 9-4 football team with a 2 game divisional lead (I would love for the Steelers to be as "bad" as the Ravens are now portrayed to be). RG3 is still a rookie QB with all of 12 games of NFL games under his belt. Can we please hold off putting him and Tom Brady any where near the same sentence. Its really quite embarrassing.

Right on Hardy5456!!! I am die hard Green and Gold, Brats and Beer Green Bay Packers fan. Everyone is saying whats wrong with Aaron Rodgers this year.... He probably had the best year of his career in 2011, but everyone assumes he will do that every year. I will take Aaron on a bad year over any other QB in the game!Since 2008 has he had a good career? yes! but he needs to do good for another 8-10 years to be considered HoF! People have annointed Luck and RG3 as the second coming of Christ in football. One year doesnt make squat except "you had a great year". RG3 keep on running and dont learn how to slide and see what happens!!!!!
here is the problem with what you just did. you confused TEAM SUCCESS with INDIVIDUAL SUCCESS. why dont more rookie qbs come in and win playoff games in the first 4 years? most rookie qbs either dont start or get drafted to awful teams. flacco was a bottom half of the first round pick. thats a huge advantage over going to the rams or panthers, wouldnt ya say? id rather have cam newton than joe flacco anyday. i think if newton had a defense that starred ray lewis, ed reed, lardarius webb, haloti gnata and terrell suggs, then he would have led a 10 win team last year. dont believe me? check out how many 4th quarter leads carolina lost last year. flacco also has one of the 3 best rbs in the game in ray rice. cam has 2 guys that got big money and forgot how to play the game. check out deangelo williams' YPC this year. please, check it out. joe flacco has boldin and torrey smith as well as pitta. cam has a lead WR that is 5'8 ( or 5'9, depends what website you trust more) and NO OTHER MAJOR WEAPONS.
you cannot blame flacco that lee evans dropped that ball. you also cant blame evans that the idiot kicker missed the fg after that. but so is the game of football. sh*t happens. lets not forget blaine gabbert thoroughly outplayed aaron rodgers in the jags/pack game this season. is gabbert better than rodgers? no way. but he outplayed him one time. joe flacco is not a top 20 nfl qb. he wont win you many games, but he will lose you a few ( last weekend anyone?).
and finally....look at newtons stats before you call him a one hit wonder. he is having a better year than he did last year, just not as many rushing tds. but the team blows, so people blame him. lets be original for once and not give the qb 100% blame for team suckiness and 100% glory for being on a good team. mark sanchez made 2 afc title games his first 2 years, is he worth a fuck?
and to much blame when they lose. This may be a cliche, but it's usually true. Defense, specialty teams and the 10 other offensive players have something to say in the outcome of a game.
RG3 has shown to be more then a one hit wonder. And for being a rookie he is VERY impressive. Same as a couple other rookies this season. It is Rookie Season! Also in football people want results TODAY. Not yesterday. Eagles fans are ready to hang Reid. Anyway though football is football and you never know how the game will go. We can only hope for the best for the team we root for.
We, in Washington have been so starved for a good quarterback, even few bread crumbs feel like a feast. ![]()
No, I completely agree that Tom Brady and Payton Manning are an institution by themselves and RG III has a long way to get there, but please understand where I am coming from ![]()
unless they are playing the Cowgirls or Little big name .
I am happy for my D.C friends who are ecstatic the occasional Monday . ![]()
Have you guys considered hiring a Voodoo Doc to remove the Snyder jinx before Playoffs ?
Good luck , you'll need it . ![]()
