The pack ain't no pushover. . .

The offense is very good and the defence is better than average. If the Giants win it may be due to Joe Philbin's current problems. His son drowned in a river a few day ago.

the 7 point spread for this game is bullshit. The giants on their game will make it a close game. This will be a high scoring game but the packers have no defense. They may be the best team in nfl but the giants pushed them hard and they have all the confidence in the world. If the giants pass rush can get to rogers with the front four then this will be a great game otherwise the packers will crush the giants rogers is a beast

And the Jints are well equipped to do that.  Two hot teams, but the Jints are even hotter. I'm not predicting a win, but it wouldn't surprise me, either.  This is the best Jints team since 2007.  Go Big Blue!

They are dead last in pass defense, giving up almost three hundred yards per game. Their defense is horrendus and is by far their biggest weakness.

The offense OTOH is downright spectacular, as for Joe Philbin's son, in the world of pro sports the Pack is just as likely to rally around their offensive coordinator and play even more inspired as they are to be distracted by the loss.

I my have overstated with regard to pass coverage a bit and rounded up to average. But with Clay Matthewes and Waldon I think  they can pressure Manning enough to win.

But good call GA, now god back over to the P&R board where you loose arguments. LOL

When a team like the peckers, saints, or pats for that matter jump out to big leads it 1. forces teams to get pass happy and 2. puts them in "prevent mode", IOW, just dont allow any bombs.

Sure, none of the above have a D like Baltimore, Steelers, (when healthy and not making FUCKING stupid defensive calls) but are they better than the stats show?

If they had even an average defense they would be odds on to win it all, even with such a shabby defense, they still are likely to win the SB.

I can imagine a Green Bay/New England Superbowl, it would make SB XXIX 75 point shootout between the 49'rs and the Chargers look like a defensive struggle. lol

To answer your question, no the GB defense is every bit as bad as their stats. Quite the contrary, Rogers has had to pull games out of the fire that should have been easy wins. I would suggest that the bad defense has forced Rogers and the Packers offense to play even better to win these shootouts their defense keeps putting them in.

as good as Rogers clearly is, he'll have a hard time with them.

run out to big leads, it seems to me the other team would be pressed to throw more than they otherwise would. pass plays average more yards than run.

also big leads lead to garbage time points

i dont follow the packers close enough to know

the big difference being that a statisically shitty, but otherwise decent defense can rise to the occasion, a just plain shitty one cant.

probably couldn't sit here and say THAT'S BULLSHIT but since I am I will.  If you don't have a defense that's better than 32nd in the league you are NOT going to win a Superbowl. The K gun was as high power as any offense has ever been in the NFL and the ...." statistically shitty, but otherwise decent defense".... left us high and dry every time.

This is the time of year when defense is everything.

If the Packers win the bowl I will be the first one to come on here and say I was wrong but I am 99.9% sure I won't have to.

but their stats dont show it

also, regular season injuries to key players returning at post season can make a difference too.

im just saying, this time of year, if your gonna wager $$ its smart to look beyond the ##s.

ask icki if #72 coming back has made a difference to the NYG

do you think tebow would have lit up the steelers if Keisel and hampton had'nt gone down in the 1st qtr, if ryan clark had played, if #7 had good wheels? pouncey was out, legursky was hurt....

steelers had the #1 defense in the NFL...least thats what the numbers said.

I was just beginning to get over that 4 year blue-nut special.  I watched them lose to the Giants in a Giants based bar and watched them lose to the Foreskins with a DC fan for a SO.  Those experiences made me start watching auto racing so that I'd have something less painful to do on Sundays.

That Giants game will alway be the worst , but the second for me was Minneapolis. My bro got the seats via NFL properties and told me I had to behave because the people in those sections were his livelihood. By mid- way in the 2nd QTR I was still behaving and it was him who was screaming WTF at the top of his lungs LMAO !

Suffice it to say that when you make that trip, I'll be asking.

but I don't think it will happen. Green Bay remembers the last time the Giants came calling in the playoffs and payback in Green Bay usually isn't pretty.  Being a Bears' fan, I know how that feels.

That being said, I would absolutely LOVE to see the Giants kick the piss out of those fucking dickheads in the absolute WORST and ugliest city in America.

While their stats aren't pretty, let's not forget all the takeaways they create.
The Giants do have a good front 4, look for alot of quick passes and screens out of the Packers.
I'm not sure the Giants secondary will hold up. If they play a press coverage they will get burned deep.
If they back off and play a zone, look for alot of quick slants. Whats your answer Giants fans for
Green Bays 4 and 5 wideouts? Packers beat you at your place, now you have to come to our house.

the Ravens. They have a 12 - 4 record, good QB, Good coaching and good defence.

I think they will beat Houston and can see them winning the SB.

Just a thought.

they are a silently dejected team suffering the loss of one of their "Packer Family". The possiblility of laying an egg is there. I am a lifelong Packer fan and from family and friends back in cheddarland, people are worried about the team's psyche. Since the Vegas spread is so great... I made two bets!!!!

Giants on their A game will be tough. As for defense, the Pack is weak and did not play many teams with a strong defense like teams see in the AFC (Steelers, Ravens, Texans). 49'ers have good "D" so we'll see how the Saints fair.

Bear Bryant said "offense wins games; defense wins championships". NFL commentators love offense, but playoffs come down to 3 things: turnovers, penalties, and special teams. A good defense creates turnovers. A decent offensive team with a strong defense is tough to beat.  Go Ravens!
