I'm sure that there are many thoughts on this matter, but to me it goes back to August when the Dodgers didn't want to pick up Justin Verlander's extended contract. Instead they chose Yu  Darvish because he was a "bargain". The classic case of being "penny wise and pound foolish" It comes back to haunt you every time.

bullpen, and the Astros proved that this vaunted group of hurlers was not invincible.  Charlie Morton and Justin Verlander were very important cogs for the Astros in reaching the World Series, in addition to helping them win the championship.  George Springer and his 5 HR's didn't hurt either.

said I put most of the blame on the managerial decisions of Dave Roberts-Not starting Kershaw in games 4 and 7 was flat wrong IMHO. As a Dodger fan since '52, I'd like to vent a little-While Kershaw has sucked on occasion in the post season, I believe you go with your best at crunch time-and let the chips fall where they may-Yu Darvish was pathetic and should be dropped in the offseason-I couldn't believe this inept incompetent  was the starter in game 7 for the World Championship-I felt there was little chance with him on the mound for the Dodgers to win-the game was over in the 2nd inning after he was serving up gopher balls like Halloween candy-I've waited 29 years for this chance and Roberts sent out a washed up clown to bring home the World Championship with the expected results. Thanks, Roberts, for nothing. The Dodgers had a bit of poor luck in Game 5 in the late innings with Taylor on 3rd. I believe he would have scored on the fly ball to right but thought the 3rd base coach was saying 'NO, NO, No'  when he was saying 'You gotta Go, GO, Go'    Jansen held them in the 9th and the game would have been over but the ASTROS got to him n the 10th and won 13-12-Great series and the Astros are a great team......but I believe they should have come 2nd but for leadership decisions-GRRRRRRRR.

Darvish was pathetic, there is no denying that.

Mark Walter, CEO of Guggenheim Partners. Another finance guy who wanted  to own a professional sports team. I wonder if Stan Kasten was in favor of the Darvish pickup.
