I'm really not up on all the gossip and criticism and whether it's valid.  But, lately I've run into a lot of so-called experts who make lots of claims that Tebow doesn't have the skills to be in the NFL.  He can't take a snap from downunder, his passes are wobbley, his running skills won't be used in quarterback position, etc...

So enlighten me.  Is all that kind of talk valid?  Is he that bad?  As a true Gator fan, I thought he was a star player.

So far, everything has panned out to be true. Those things you mentioned were criticisms from the Senior Bowl workouts. This is his first exposure to pro coaching, so he may be nervous or trying too hard. I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt and think that with more reps and more one-on-one instruction, he can overcome all those flaws.

I've said this before, the spread offense doesn't work in the NFL. The NFL prefers the traditional QB, which means taking snaps under center and reading complex defenses simultaneously while dropping back to pass. He just doesn't have the basic skills to make it as a pro QB, and lot of the blame is with the high schools and colleges moving to the spread offense which makes it easier for a QB. If he tried to run in the NFL, guys like Rae Lewis would knock him into next week. If he is drafted, expect him to go in the later rounds as a potential HB or TE.

Yeah, I'd like think that he can make some of the needed adjustments with his mechanics. I've always thought he threw a pretty catchable ball. Hell, when was the last time Peyton threw a tight spiral? LOL!

Dallas Clark, plus he is a tough hard nosed athlete. Either TE, or maybe a spot player in the wildcat offense.

Tim is one of the best college players and leaders ever-but his low release would doom him in the pro game, IMHO-he can't run like he did in college and would be a target for every head hunting defensive lineman and LB in the league and would not last-Just don't think his future in the NFL is at QB-1rob

been MANY college stars, even Heisman winners, that didn't make it in the NFL.

Granted, age has diminished the memory, but I seem to recall a college QB from Brigham Young built kind of like Tebow. And I don't think he was regarded as that great a passer in college but did OK in NFL. Steve Young sound familiar?
