Cowboys make number 1 worse team in the NFL

Dear Tasha:
Considering no one is like Tom Landry, the end is certainly near for Wade Wilson and Tony Romo. You can certainly believe at years end there will be a big name coach in Dallas well before the draft. Even he know life can't continue to go on like this.

I knew as soon as I saw the headline they would be number one.  I can't stand how little Jerry cares.  If he really gave two shits about REAL football and not his ego, Wade would be gone, mid season and all.  Gosh I am so angry to be a Cowboys fan at this point.

...wanna trade?

Go Bills.  No really.  Go somewhere, anywhere.  Just learn how to play the fucking game.

The cowboys suck but I think #1 worse goes to buffalo, at this time, however the season is not over.

As for Jerry boy, I must admit It is fun watching his dream, of the cowboys playing in the super bowl

In the monument that Jerry boy built to Jerry boy,  go to hell.

Perhaps he can be an usher, he could sow the two owners to their respective suites.

maybe they will let Jerry boy sell hot dogs.

Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go get a bottle of good scotch and some

snacks for the massacre tonight.

Thank you
XLV = 4

Football is so complicated in terms of the offensive and defensive game plan, that firing a coach during the season never ever makes sense. It accomplishes nothing. The schemes have been implemented since mini camps (at this point, 5 months ago). A new coach would be running the exact same system with the exact same players (it would be impossible to do anything else). Perhaps the only thing a new coach could bring would be to call the same plays at different times during the game. The time to fire the coach is right after the season. This would give the new coach plenty of time to implement his own system and schemes.

As far as Dallas' ranking in terms of teams in the NFL, they are NO WAY NEAR the bottom of the pack. I don't care what their record is, that roster is loaded with talent. They blew the games to the Redskins and Vikings and if Romo doesnt get hurt, they at least beat the Jags and maybe the Giants. In my mind they should be a 4-3/5-2 type team. (in which case no one is talking about firing Wade) I know, at the end of the day, you are what your record says you are. Right now, their record has the Cowboys at the bottom of the pack. I too would be a frustrated fan.

The bottom line is that Wade certainly deserves to be fired (barring a miraculous 9 game win streak to close the season). It is his responsibility to ultimately put his players in the best possible position to make plays. Dallas is at their best when they run the ball effectively (and they have 3 good backs to accomplish this) which allows Romo (when healthy) to really attack down the field. Even when Romo was in there, they never ran the ball consistently enough to make the passing game work (except against the Texans, which, surprise, surprise, is the only game they won). It will be up to the new coach to get the most out of a roster which is not void of talent.

continue to flounder, IMHO-Poor Wade is just a yes man for Jerry, who appears to be heavily involved in running the show-and is why Wade has lasted so long-The Boys right now are an undisciplined, heavily penalized, overpaid and underachieving bunch with no QB, with many who appear to have quit on their coach, who seems to have lost control of his squad-Wade should go be a defensive coordinator somewhere as this is his forte and JJ should get him a strong no nonsense disciplinarian to run his team-
As long as Jerry Jones' ego keeps him entwined in the running of the team, the 'Boys will be doomed to mediocrity in my view. 1rob

The is an opportunity for the C0wboys. It's not the one JJ or Wade wants but they should still take it while it's here. They don't come around that often. The problem is neither Wade or JJ will cowboy up. It's a dead season for the team and probably Wade and his coaches will be gone. Don't fire them.
Put them in a room and JJ should say to them "Were Toast". So let's prepare for next season and let's start right now. Treat the remaining games as live practice for next year's squad. Identify where we are weak, prep 2 QB to guard against injury next year in game play and practice. You don't have to announce this to the team, just implement it and move on.

At the end of the season if JJ wants to fire management then go ahead. He will then have to hire a coach who can continue on with the defense and offensive schemes.

But firing the staff mid season is a really dumb idea, Hardy is right, probably happen within the next two weeks.

Oh Tasha, try being a Chiefs fan for a while. You can be angry for 6 or 7 years non stop. They should rename the Buffalo  Bills the Chicago Bills Cubs.

Big name coaches just don't fall off the turnip trucks in front of the damn stadium. Just for the record, who is a big name coach that would be available. Yes there are always a few at the end of the season who get fired but a really good big name. Not that many, maybe one and he usually retires. As for QB, oh well there a dime a dozen, two for a penny, comes in a Cracker Jack boxes.

You know Tom Landry wasn't an instant success. We remember him most with Rodger the Dodger in the glory days but they weren't all glory days. Hank Stram, Madden those guys had bad seasons and bad teams but management didn't shoot the coach quite as fast as they do today. Legends were given time to develop. Even Vince took a while.

Coaches for the most part grow up in the NFL, few collage coaches can make the transition to pro ball and it takes time to age them like a bottle of fine Port. You buy a case of 24 and set in the basement for 15 years. Now they all come from the same batch of cask Port but only 3 will age really well. The other 21 are drinkable but those three are something special, and they don't last long.

It's about the same with NFL coaches. Quarter Backs are a little more abundant. Now here what's really rare, a coach and Quarter Back combo.

I don't even have to name them do I. I could name the quarter back and you could name the coach or visa versa. It's a fun game, won't take long to play.

I would like to promise you get a big name head coach and superstar QB this year.

You know there are three times you are allowed to lie. To a lady (no, that doesn't make you look fat), to the IRS (yes, I made those charitable contributions) and in a poker game (damn straight I have the full house). Any other time is not considered gentlemanly.

You gonna have to suck it up and take your chances. Now if this seems harsh not to worry. You may know I'm a Chiefs fan and were winning. But, chances are in a few short weeks you can write a post very similar to this addressed to me.

Then we can both have a broken hearted lost season.

He would've dumped Wade last season and picked up Mike Shanahan.

I agree. Been a fan since 1966 and for the longest time I lived and died with them. But, when Jerry ran off Jimmy Johnson due to his own ego, I knew there would be continuing problems as long as he owned the team. I think it was nothing but a fluke that they won a Super Bowl under Switzer and things have been in decline ever since. Wade Phillips is a good guy and a good defensive coach but he is NOT head coaching material. He's gotta go after the season's over as there's no sense cutting him loose now.
