This is one of the saddest weeks in the NFL. We can see the end of the football season rushing towards us and for most we don't have that much to cheer about. Patriots, Jets, Ravens, Chiefs, Eagles, Rams, Falcons, Saints, and maybe the Colts, Seahawks and Jaguars are still in the hunt. All the rest are supporting actors, yesterdays hopefuls and cannon fodder for the winners. Oh , I guess I should have included the Steelers, LOL.
For the record I don't hold out much hope for the Chiefs this year. To be honest from day one I never thought they had a real chance for a date in Arlington. But it is fun to have ones dog in the race. Not to worry, I'll still hope they go all the way and willing to offer up my first born for a Super Bowl win.
Now I know I may have hurt some fans feeling with some of my post, laughed at your team and made fun or ridiculed a team or fan here and there and for that, I don't apologize. I expect the same in return. Nothing was ever meant to demean or belittle anyone in the least. A few have had a laugh at my expense but I got to laugh along with them.
Pretty sure the last week will be difficult for some fans, and the playoffs will be downright painful, only two will go to Texas and at the end of the day the fans of 30 teams will be disappointed, some more than others. I probably won't be able to watch the Chiefs game/games, get to nervous and have to leave the room. Hell I miss all the big plays when they win but watch it on replay. When they lose we delete the recording.
If anything, I would like more fans to post about their team, fans from Buffalo, Cleveland, 49ers. So if you still have a dog in this fight hang in there and if you don't you can ridicule the rest of us for some will come up short. Regan Rourke It could happen with the Ravens, Chengster the Saints are still alive, Hardy and his damn Steelers, Bridgette and the Eagles, 1rob sorry about that. For sure GA will still bet and no matter what I will turn in my weekly card of mostly losers.
There have been a lot of funny post, good sports conversation, fan banter, some trash talk during the season. I had a shock when I noticed the "Top Ten Posters on This Board" button the other day and found my name second with 90 posts. Somewhat surprised no one has labeled me a Troll. It was not my intention to post a lot. Just found a lot to add a comment to and started a few threads that I hope were of interest.
GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the way that the Colts' injuries, age and lack of running game have finally caught up with them. Bob Sanders is their best defensive player when healthy, but he comes up with a new injury, it seems, every year. Losing Clark, Collie and Gonzalez depleted their receiving corps and Manning has had to make do with players no one out of Indy has heard of. They probably won't make it past the 1st round and I think there will be a lot of changes to the team in the off-season, especially on defense. The running game will also get more attention before the next season starts, whenever that is.
Still a little drama to unfold in Week 17. Will Peyton Manning lead the Colts to yet another playoff appearance? Who will win the ultra competitive (some say awful) NFC West? Can the Packers, left for dead two weeks ago, earn a Wild Card spot and put an end to a disappointing season for the Giants? Will the Falcons hold off the Saints and Bears (they are playing the Panthers, so the answer is obvious) and earn home field throughout the NFC playoffs? And of course Hardy will have his eyes glued to the Steelers as they try to earn that much coveted #2 seed and a needed bye.
I don't think there is a real dominant team this year which makes for a fascinating playoffs. In the AFC, the Pats will of course be tough to beat in New England. I would only be surprised if the Chiefs made the SuperBowl (and that's because they were a pre-season afterthought...but JL, you need to suck it up and watch your team in the playoffs). The Patriots have been the best team all year. The Ravens and Steelers have tenacious defenses which win in the postseason and the Colts of course have Peyton Manning (which always makes them a tough out). The Jets proved last year that if you get hot at the right time you can make a deep run. In the NFC, if the Packers get in, watch out...they will be a tough out. Ultimately, I believe it will come down to New Orleans or Atlanta. The Eagles have an explosive offense, but they have continually been loosing defensive players to injury and it may catch up to them. For some reason (and perhaps they too were a pre-season afterthought) I'm not sold on the Bears. I think they are one and done.
So enjoy the games this Sunday and we will have plenty of time to digest, anaylze, re-analyze all the playoff match-ups!

truth be told, and I think I speak for many here, you have been a pleasure to have around.
and if posting volume is what makes a troll, then I am the biggest troll around. I have over 400 posts on the various boards, and I am not even on the same continent. lol

Troll away dude. I'm on my way out. Ter has made it clear that they will continue to foster moronic additions as long as the reviews continue to accumulate.
Truth be told, I find the regular season tedious just readying myself for the 'win-or-go-home' round. I love any kind of tournament play.
You're not a troll, Gambler is! But you're BOTH welcome additions to TER. God help me for saying that. LOL
