The friendly fire issue is HUGE in our home. You'll probably never meet a person with conflicting opinions, of the govn't, greater than this little girl.

Among the new inductees to the College Football HOF is former Arizona State University linebacker and Arizona Cardinal safety Pat Tillman. Shortly after 9/11, he turned his back on the NFL and enlisted in the Army. Tillman eventually became a member of the elite Rangers, before losing his life in Afghanistan to friendly fire. A very worthy choice.

I won't patronize her by saying that I know how she feels, because I've never been in that situation. A few years ago, I was an ESPN story on the events surrounding Tillman's death. The fact that he was accidentally shot by his own squad mates was hard enough to watch, but the most heinous part was the ensuing cover-up by the Army.  Tillman was awarded a Silver Star (I think) for his actions in the face of enemy action. His legacy will never affected, as he was a hero to me as soon as he enlisted. It's a shame that he will be connected forever to the Army's bald-faced lie.

So why does the thread have to turn to how he was killed ? Deaths by Friendly fire, Training accidents, High-stress training etc. happen all the time. It's part of life in the REAL military. This should have stopped at A great linebacker inductee to the CFHOF.    

Forgot  to mention ; so are the cover ups.  It all goes with the territory.
