alabama's "greg mcelroy" he is 6'3" 225... does not have a very strong arm, or quickness, can not improvise...

however he played in the toughest conference in college football, won a national championship, ran a pro style offense... he is a very accurate passer, makes good decisions. maybe the smartest qb in the draft, a leader, a winner, cool under fire and not afraid of playing on the big stage.

you can not measure heart & desire... the so-called draft experts always seem to miss this when evaluating talent.

mcelroy's name never seems to get mentioned... teams will regret overlooking him.

His final play for Alabama will be remembered for some time, that being the down field block he threw for Julio Jones against Michigan State in the Florida Citrus Bowl. McElroy will be greatly missed by the Tide faithful.

but I can't predict great things for him at the next level-we'll see and wish him the best-1rob....Auburn sucks-smile....out

Alabama usually doesn't sign quarterbacks based on their potential. They are signed because they are smart and manage the game within the system. McElroy and Jay Barker were two of the most cerebral quarterbacks 'Bama has had in recent memory. Barker didn't make it in the NFL but, like McElroy, he helped win a National Championship. And that's really all that matters. Roll Tide!!!!!!

Barker played 20 years ago. That's hardly what I'd consider recent.
