Tennessee Athletic Director Mike Hamilton is resigning, just days before Tenessee will go to Indianapolis to appear before the NCAA Committee on Infractions. Among Hamilton's notable achievements:
1. The firing of Phillip Fulmer and hiring of Lane Kiffin, who began racking up NCAA violations as soon as he stepped on the UT campus. Kiffin coached the Vols for 1 year before bolting for his "dream job" at USC, right around the time that the Trojans were going down the NCAA toilet. 2. Bruce Pearl, who racked up his own impressive list of violations, including hosting a group of potential recruits and their families at a cookout in his home, then lying to NCAA investigators. Pearl eventually admitted his lies and was subsequently suspended for the 1st 8 games of Tenessee's SEC schedule. Pearl finally got the ax after his team failed to show up at their NCAA tournament appearance.
